  1. Why is everybody saying WW will get injured? To me the most vulnerable Qb is the one who sits in the pocket to long.

No, the most vulnerable QB is the one who keeps getting injured and can never seem to get healthy...

That aside, Dickey seems to be much more involved this year and had the quote of the day when he said something like "Do you wanna !@#$% go 2-9?!"

Our kicking game is awful, we had too many blocks and our kickers drive the ball and don't have enough lift...reminds me of Baz's first year

Fumbled snaps are a huge problem! If you can't start the play off right you can't finish the play

How I would rank the QBs:

    1. Wilson - good mobility, decent arm, but reckless

    2. Tune - This guy really looks like a future star QB, would like to seem him with the first team, but will probably be redshirted unless injuries hit. Tune to Gill will replace Hall to Blount

    3. Meager - Would probably be #1 if he were healthy but he never seems to be

    4. Phillips - My pick to start against Texas was awful yesterday. Poor decisions over and over. Lacks velocity on his throws

I have an interesting thought. I think a lot of our plays are poorly designed or poorly executed. When you watch our pass patterns the receivers seem to all be in the same area making it easier to defend against and making our QB spend too long in the pocket. It also seems we have several plays where only 2 receivers are going down field. I can't tell if the receivers are not running their routes correctly or if the play really calls for them to be 5 yds apart. Thoughts?

Esteban Santiago was playing NT with the first team I think. Big guy, a tad slow in the footwork, but looks pretty good for a freshman. That said we need Ike Thomas in there, he is the difference maker...

Robertson is pretty dang good and should be backing up Jamario. Jamario did not play very much and did not show too much...Hopefully he will be healthy for Texas. The new kid #21 at running back looked like a bruiser, was deceptively fast and made good moves.

Gill is awesome...he seems to be open a lot and caught the ball just about everytime...

good gosh can we get our logo on the 50?!

both lines looked better than last year

  2. I believe we are #4 in total enrollment (some numbers only show undergrad numbers).

    1. UT

    2. A$M

    3. UHouston

    4. NT

Though for years people have been saying we will pass Houston in the near future.

Houston and NT fight for 3rd every year. We are far from being a "small" school

  3. Ft Worth may be much smaller but downtown at night between the Coliseum and the Courthouse (basicly Sundance area) beats anything I have witnessed in Dallas.

While we are on a rabbit trail...

I too think Ft. Worth is way better than Dallas. Ft. Worth has all the better date spots, better zoo, better art museums, better history museums, botanic gardens, stockyards/rodeos...the list goes on and on...Dallas has basically one thing and that is the music scene and even that is dying off it seems...

oh, and obviously TcU is better than SmU wink.gif

  4. Ryan Davenport - 6-2, 248 from Fredricksburg transfer from Air Force -  The roster has him listed at fullback this year and he will battle Karonna Henderson for time.  With his size and speed he could blossom there.

So they will be battling for one play a game? I just don't understand why we didn't use Henderson more last year. He created holes with his physical play and appeared to be much needed given our line troubles last year...

  5. This same person also told me in reference to DD that the SMU game has been MADE important to him.  Our out of conference schedule has been MADE important to him.  I am NOT calling for an upset over UT, but be preparred to maybe see some things in 2006 that have been promised over the years, a more open offense, a "come to win" attitude...who knows.

so what are you saying? He only shows up when it is a contract year or when his job is on the line? Great...we have Dampier for a coach....

  6. ---Yep, Bush should not be mentioned here on a board about Texas sports..  He did not go to college in Texas (Yale) , did not graduate from any High School in Texas (New England preppie) and was not born in Texas  (Conn.).  Not exactly a Texan or cowboy either (bought his first cow after being elected President and over 50 years old just for image purposes.

    Beat the Horns...

I mention Lay's potato chips and you mention Bush...I see the connection

I'm starting to think that you have a crush on Mr. Bush. It's like in Junior High when a girl would constantly make fun of a boy and talk badly about him all the time, bring him up when he wasn't mentioned, but secretly deep down inside she really like-likes him...yep, you have a crush

Do you want Mr. Bush to ask you to dance?

    circle:

    YES

    NO

    MAYBE
