No love for the Texan Johnson? Probably the fastest human we will ever see, the 19.32 200 is still unbelievable. Hall of Famer. George Teague -

Please remember to support the track team this season. We have a decent program going over the last few years with men and women. The women placed 2nd in the Sun Belt Indoor Championship. The outdoor Sun Belt Championship will be at Fouts, so everyone needs to make it out for that if at all possible. The dates for that are May 7th-9th and is the biggest track meet of the year at that time for everyone involved. The North Texas Invitational is April 24th at Fouts as well. This is a great thing to go to on a nice spring day and see some great athletes.

Stranger, you have some obscure names in your memory. Good luck in fantasy baseball this year. -
Mavs fans, things have been rough lately. But let's try to keep perspective on this. If you are like me, you were a Mavs fan when things were bad -flirting with the worst record in history bad. I don't miss those days. The Mavs are a winner, class of the league now. A poor history is not an excuse for underachieving though. And the Mavs have certainly done that at times. But here is where you need to take heart. First of all, this time last season all appeared lost. The made a turnaround and made a playoff run. If history repeats itself, it could mean a championship this time. Secondly, even if they do continue inexplicable play, and the season ends on a sour note (doesn't it for every team but one?), remember that things aren't like they used to be. Now, there is a proactive owner who is a fan at heart and hates losing as much as we do. The owner also puts success ahead of a bottom line. If things go bad, they won't stay for long with Cuban running the show. I don't really think of myself as a sunshine pumper, because I feel like this is the truth. Things could be a lot worse. And if they do get worse, Cuban won't sit around and watch it crumble. It's a good time to be a Mavs fan so stay loud proud and rowdy. And if all else fails, just cheer against the Lakers.

I picked Wake Forest to win it all, I hoped Paul with be this year's Anthony, but he disappeared tonight. The only solace in the frustrating game tonight is that Saint Joseph's won right in front of Packer and I hope they do again this weekend so he has to eat his words.

If he shot up 2 inches, that is huge news. We will need decent inside players in the worst way next season. Williams and Sturns will make a nice inside outside freshman combo. Someone who knows, can Sturns run the point on the D1 level, or is the only answer there a JUCO?

Ha ha... The most whipped guy in the history of the world, hands down. We need to have a discussion on the very pathetic existence of Doug Christie at some point in the playoffs. Popeye Jones -

Walker is frustrating as can be, there is no doubt. But he has come a long way. If you saw him play on the Celtics you would see that easily. But like Newy said, it takes a great player to change his game and Walker has probably reached his limit on how much he can change. Famous Boston sports fan Bill Simmons (the Sports Guy) used to write about how frustrating it is to watch Walker because he really does have all the talent he needs to do anything he wants, but never puts it together. It's a good thing Walker will be the most sought after trade bait in the league this offseason (big contract coming off the books) because I think he and the Mavs are better served splitting ways. Of course, last year at the end of the season it looked doom and gloom and everyone was saying the same thing about Nick Van Exel and look what happend. I would be very happy to look at this post at the end of the season and wonder what the heck I was thinking. -

I went to his camp! The best memory from that was playing the NBA Jam arcade game with David Miller in the Crumley (where we stayed) game room. We were the Pacers, he was Reggie Miller and shot 3's the whole game and I was Rik Smits and got the rebound if he missed and passed it back. We beat all comers. For a freshman in high school, hanging with a college player that good was a thrill. Jankovich put on a dribbling exhibition one night and he was pretty dang good. Obviously I was not around when Jankovich coached here, so that's all I can contribute.

Blalock is the young third baseman for the Rangers, one of the best young hitters in the game. He hit the game winning home run in the all-star game last season off of Eric Gagne, and it was the only save Gagne blew all season. Blalock is awesome and will get better. All you need to know about Blalock. -

I saw this on another board and it's really fun if it works right. Just reply to the previous post with one word or a small phrase and type a new player to have a word associated with. For example if someone said Eric Montross I would quote thier post, type "Agile" for my word for Montross and type a new athlete, say, "Lorenzo Williams" for someone else to take. It doesn't neccesarily have to be former Mavs centers who sucked, but please keep it pro athletes. I don't want this turning into a dreaded music, politics, or religion thread. If it works, we should try it with Mean Green players and coaches on the football board when the offseason hits a lull. I will start it off with.... Julio Franco.
