SOS will go back up a bit once the season gets rolling. They just automatically put the non-BCS down first. The main thing though.. is OOC wins. We all have the rough OOC schedule in common, but those losses shared amongst all teams in a conference destroy the total SOS. Thank GOD LaTech has backed off this year with Florida, Kansas, and North Texas. Florida's a real booger, but Kansas is a good 50-50 even matchup, and I'm not gonna talk any smack to you guys.. North Texas is a nice game at home. Last year was of course Miami, Tennessee, Auburn, and ULL. Dealing with the ranked teams in our own conf. was enough, and then to have those games... for the love of all that is good and decent... DOWN WITH THE BCS!!!

I'll have to go to the Tokyo Dome and watch a football game while I'm there.. but I don't know if their season coincides with ours or not. I KNOW I'll see some baseball, 'cause that rocks over there. Maybe even some hockey since I will miss hockey season and my Louisiana IceGators are takin' a year off.

Sorry to hear about your news, guys. Sounds like he was a great university leader and did a lot for your athletics. At LaTech, we're wishing our leaders would get the hell on out, so ya'll have been fortunate to have this guy. Good luck with whoever you get next and lets all hope he's as great a president as the one you're losing.

College football is the best! No matter what conference you're in! hahaha... okay, just had to say that.. but nah, it's one of those things that makes America great! I'll miss it once I move to Japan.. *sob*.. *sniff*.. but I'll be back again in time for FOOTBALLLLL!!! They actually have football there now, which is interesting, but obviously they're nowhere near as good as us.

I like how some folks here act as if two running backs are going to save their team in every game. What other strengths do you have, and do you even have a defense, 'cause I'm not hearing anything about it. If you're going to "blow us out" what are you bringing? You underestimate us just because it's popular in the Belt to demean us because we're in the WAC which seems to harvest some sort of jealousy.

The nicest is supposed to be the Sheraton downtown off the Convention Center Blvd. exit on I-110. I don't remember how much it costs but it's next to Argosy Casino, which isn't a great casino, but there's stuff to do. Otherwise, there's a lot of hotels near the College Dr. exit off I-10 on Corporate Blvd. and Constitution Ave. There's a big tall high-rise Mariott and some really nice other hotels all along that strip. Traffic will be absolutely insane though, so you can try Hamton Inn on One Calais off of Essen @ I-10 which is a basic hotel I used to stay in before in lived in Baton Rouge. It's not too busy at gametime and the only traffic to deal with is the already congested crap over there, but not TOO much LSU traffic.

You must not have watched that ULL game last year. That was pretty bad though. We turned the ball over, I think it was 4 times in a row in THEIR red zone... talk about gift-wrapping. It took this before they ever scored, and we already had them 14-0 I believe. After stalling for a bit, yeah we ended up coming from behind and barely saving that one. S--t happens though. Look at the years previous to that. Even when we were rotten against other people, we spanked the Cajuns. You're so worried about us and LSU when you should really be watching ULM and ULL. I'll really be laughing if you folks lose to them too. All this smack will stop if ya'll end up in a conference (not the Sun Belt) with us and we make good rivals, but for right now, I can bash all I want since you guys are in the SBC unless you step up and beat us. Let's see whatcha' got!

I agree on the comment about LSU. They think they own Louisiana, but we've been better than them for much longer. We ain't USC right now, but just as a preseason prediction, ya gotta like LaTech's odds against a Sun Belt team that has hell beating OOC teams. Until you guys come over here and beat us, we'll never believe in you completely. It's the SUN BELT for crying out loud. It's the worst conference. It's pretty much common perception by every team that even the lowest team in any conference will almost always beat anyone in the Sun Belt. Is it always true? No. Will you guys debunk that theory? Who knows. I don't think so, but go ahead and keep talking smack. When we win, we won't be taking down the goalposts or anything either, just another 'W' in the slot to give us a little more momentum as we head into the second half of the WAC season this year. ONWARD TO FRESNO!!! Have fun beating up on the likes of Florida Multi-national School for the Deaf, Dumb, and Blind.. or Lafayette and Monroe Junior Colleges.

Purplecat, you never sent any videos to us folks in Ruston/Shreveport. That's a good thing though 'cause we'd probably have a lot of folks spam the hell out of the LSU boards. lol. Anyway, they'll find out how much of a hellhole Tiger Stadium is for visitors when they get there. I wanna know about all these titles ya'll talk about too. You won the NC two years ago and the other was in the fifties. LSU absolutely SUCKED ASS for years, so it's a shame they wouldn't schedule Tech for like 60 years. You guys waited 'till we were WAAAYY down and LSU was amazing to schedule us. I can't wait for our next chance in '07 to smoke you in your own house(or at least give it another shot). We would've owned you in the nineties. Anyway, NT guys, I've talked a lot of dirt, but I hope you at least scare the Tigers. The first game of the season like this is your best shot. Hope for us to stab at the BCS powers too while we're at Florida. We'll beat Kansas, so there's one down, but I really want Florida. GEAUX BULLDAWGS!!! by the way.. in all technicality... the Louisiana team that has the MOST conference titles is Louisiana Tech University. This is of course from before we had the Div. 1a-1aa split deal, but we owned! We were also Indy for a while in 1A and then won the WAC. We'll be back, coonasses! (woohoo! LSU smack on the NT board! I'm just setting a few things straight.)

Yeah... not a lot of stock in that.. that's kinda stupid. If they predict a craptacular loss to an away WAC team, maybe I could understand Utah State at least a little more than Idaho, but jeez... On your predictions, I don't think you'll lose to Tulsa, but they're pretty unpredictable really. I still say you'll beat Tulsa though, if you get even at least just one OOC win, it will be them.

I can just say with conviction, we DO end up better off right now in the WAC than the Belt financially, end of freakin' discussion on that.

Here we go again.. Cerebus also apparently thinks he's a WAC insider. Our current WAC benefits outweigh what we'd have in the Sun Belt, end of story. This is one of the VERY few things our AD actually understands. It's a moot point though, just bring your 'A' game to Ruston and settle it.

Exactly. It's very possible for the Sun Belt to end up as North Texas, Troy, and yep.. ULL being good ( say ULL because those people are putting a lot into their program even though they've sucked so bad for quite a long while, so I have faith in them ). If you can get two teams really good and a decent third like that, and win a few more OOC games then we'll have to consider the Sun Belt and WAC to be more on par with each other. You could even end up with more bowls or television and then uh-oh.. a decent regional conference! It could and probably will happen. I don't hate the Belt, but ya can't blame me for liking the WAC more right now, being in it. I don't wanna be snobby either, hell I wish NT was in the WAC with us. Because of all the smack though, this game will probably end up being considered the WAC vs. Sun Belt rather than LaTech vs. North Texas, but oh well.

I went to EA's site and looked and apparently they just don't sell many for GameCube. It's probably true since they don't sell too well in America. It's kind of like a lot of Japanese games not coming out on the XBox, since it's not popular at ALL in Japan.

It's true, we've sucked major major rear end the past few years. I think we'll be back up this year honestly, and I haven't said that for the past couple years, but I believe it now. I maybe reserve a *little* of respect sometimes for NT because of the Sun Belt fact.. but yeah.. we haven't proven anything since 2001 but REALLY since 1999 to tell the truth. Our '97 and '99 teams were great but that doesn't matter now. I say, if anyone wants to predict a North Texas win, it should be a close one fought to the bitter end with no grass left in Aillet. No way in the world it's a blowout by any means because we constantly play somewhat rougher teams than NT does, and it's a home game. Besides that, we do have a better rushing defense than a lot of your guys are saying and both of our offenses are quite one-dimensional this year. It will be close if you win. I look forward to a good game, and give Troy hell this year.

I can't wait to get the game. I almost went out at midnight and got it last night but I was sleepy. It sucks that your fight song isn't on there... I hear ULM's is missing again too. That's just unacceptable given you guys rule your conference... Maybe your band is being a pain about it. Anyway, I need to get the game so I can stop Jamario Have fun with it, I'm curious to see this new Heisman mode thing. I just hope the computer can put up a better rushing offense. I could almost ALWAYS stop the computer's rushing game. Also.. I don't guess you guys would know, but is the new WAC insignia on there, or the same ol' same ol'? And when you sim the game, what's the average W/L between you guys and us on our game this season?

Look, codpiece, I wasn't bashing your school and could care less that your massive state has good sports in your opinion. And you're also wrong about something else.. I am at LSU right now so that I can transfer some credits overseas soon. It was a bad idea as this school sux compared to Tech, so yes I DO attend LSU and they DO have good sports. I have two fav. teams but my first love is Tech. Ya can't fault me for driving all the way to Ruston (5 hours) for their games when I have the badass Tigers right down the street.. that's dedication at least, especially for a poor college student. Plus, you wanna talk about superior football.. who was the national champion most recently? Oh yeah.. LSU, and don't give me the "shared" crap. USC's schedule was crap that year and everyone knows it. LSU played a good schedule and even destroyed my Dawgs (it was a painful game for me, as we probably played the worst game in history). I was at THE national championship game and LSU slapped Oklahoma in the REAL bowl in New Orleans, not the Sun Burn jackoff festival you call a bowl.
