Damn, really late notice if they want a good crowd on hand for the last home game of the season.
If the weather really looks fine when I wake up, I'm gonna try to go.
Agreed. But I can understand them trying to get this game in today. If they do it....WSU can get home a day early....instead of having to stay around.
Will try to make it too....won't be there at the start though. Go Mean Green!!!

Three really nice touches for Senior Weekend
1) All ten senior players numbers in big white letters on the field. 5 of them in foul territory going from home plate up to 3rd.....the other five going from home plate up to 1st.
2) Having moms and dads of the seniors all throw out "ceremonial" first pitches......to their kiddos.
3) And honoring WSU's 8 or so seniors....by having our players present them all with one white rose and one yellow rose. (their team colors).....very classy.

Great wins tonight. As of right now....no definitive time yet for the final game. I had heard 10 am Saturday.....but that's not listed anywhere.

Nice walk off win in the 9th....4-3....on a homer by Molly Rainey.
All three homers today by seniors....Molly, Kailey Gamble (tied it at 3 in the 7th)...and Kalei Christensen....with a solo blast for our first run.
Skylar gets the win....in relief of Mackenzie Wagoner.
Great win.....game two coming up soon.

I am out in west Texas and will be watching on "The Plus". It has been windy here and my phone shows windy conditions in Denton with sustained speeds at 18mph w/ gusts to 33mph. Is that accurate? If so, we may have a jet stream headed out to right field.
Just got in from a run.....and I hate windy days when I run. It wasn't that bad. But it will be noticeable. Right field might get some homers....glad we have some good lefty bats like Kailey, Lexi, Molly, Kat.....
Will be there for game 1.....

It's not been reported over there yet....but we lost another b-ball player to the portal y'day (Terrence Dixon). He played very little.
But, as of this point......that will mean, if no one else leaves......9 new players in basketball next year. And, I'm guessing it's gonna be close to 50 new players in football this season.
To me, that's not sustainable.
You have to have some kind of relationship with the players. They can't all be "rentals."

The proposal in the article is not 1-A and 1-AA again with separate playoffs. The proposed 8 regional G5 conferences and their champions would simply play a Tourney at the end of the regular season to determine the G5 representative into the larger, National CFP.
I really don't know how they could do that many games. The G5 playoff would add 3 games beyond the regular 12 game season plus conference championship game = 16. Then the CFP could be another 3-4 games on top of all that =19-20 total games.
I missed that....when I first read it. Yeah....no way. I only want a separate G5 championship. I don't want a play-in tourney for the CFP. To Hell with that. Now....if they still want to take a 12th G5 each year for the CFP (based on regular season and conference championship games, if those still exist)....that would be okay. Then the rest of the top G5s could have their own natty.

From Brett V:
UNT was among a host of schools that showed interest in Floyd after he entered the transfer portal. Southern Illinois, Marshall, Arkansas-Little Rock and San Jose State also offered Floyd a scholarship.
Also.....Floyd said that last season was an okay season for him, and that he has multiple things to work on. I like the humility of the kid.

If you read that second story....it seems there would be 8 team divisions. And I love this:
The new divisions would be realigned geographically, in part to benefit Olympic sports.
These spread out leagues....benefit nobody. We could be here 100 years from now....and no one is gonna care about a game against Charlotte.

Was he getting good minutes at KU?
Played in 9 games as a true freshman at KU. But KU really liked him....he was signed to a letter of intent. He wasn't a walk-on. Here Bill Self just raves about him:

So he played his freshman year at Kansas....under Coach Self....before going to SFA.
Another good addition....

My initial reaction is “Please let this happen.”
I've been saying for a while now....that we need something different. We'll never compete for a natty in football....in the situation we're in now. And going to these mundane bowls....has gotten monotonous. (sp?)
There are so many bowls now....it's ridiculous.
So maybe a G5 tourney....competing for that level's national title....might be cool.
Anyway...this certainly intrigues me.

The way things are going.....isn't sustainable for us. We'll see if something comes of this.

She's finally in the game now in the 5th and pitched only one inning yesterday. Wagoner got the start again today. Is Childers hurt?
Don't think she's hurt. I think RD is just easing her back into things...after that rough outing against the Ags.
Glad our gals took care of business. MU is the worst team I've ever watched. Horribly coached. I bet you they bobbled 15 balls this weekend. (Like on throws to first or third. Even when we'd hit a ground ball single to the OF.....many times they bobbled it--allowing us to get an extra base (or two). Go Mean Green!

Brett Vito (D-RC) points out that Drake's coach took the job at West Va. And that Wright could have followed him there. And apparently Arkansas and Florida reached out to him....but he chose us. (all info from BV)
