You’re in the minority with that opinion, but hey, it’s your opinion. Just don’t tell me I don’t know anything about college football since I don’t share this minority opinion.
Hmmm, questioning one’s credibility on a subject matter? You do it but I can’t? So we’ll all learn from your first post in this thread I guess?
but I agree to disagree on Duggan. Let’s leave it at that….

Funny, I was thinking the same thing about you.
By great individual performance, I thought it was obvious (plus I stated as much) that I was talking about his effort and will to win. It was obviously not a great performance statistically.
He finished 2nd in Heisman voting and you’re comparing him to Austin Aune. That tells me all I need to know about who hasn’t watched much college football.
He had the benefit of a winning record, and being a QB, and media picking up steam on a “Cinderella” team.
And if you’ve watched college football as much as you claim to, you’d know the Heisman is nothing more than a media driven popularity contest. Rarely does the “best” college player in the nation win the award. -

Those two Int's we're tipped passes that should have been caught. Duggan has excellent judgement and superior running ability. Duggan makes plays that Aune can only dream about.
Ok, I’ll give you that. He has average accuracy. So now what?

You’re losing any credibility you may have had. I don’t know and don’t care what his stats were in the B12 title game, that was one of the greatest individual efforts you will ever see.
Comparing him to Aune is possibly the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever read on this forum and that’s really saying something.
Duggan is fortunate to have such great players around him. He’s the Aune of TCU and really showed it the last 2 games. Greatest individual effort? LOL, I can tell you don’t watch much college football…

Dude rushed for 110 yards and a TD in addition to passing for another TD, and 251 yards which was more yards than the opposing QB in a championship game. If you think that he is only a little better than Aune then I think watching a game with you would be intellectually painful. You only argument to make the gap between them small would be poor (for CUSA) talent and coaching around Aune. I don’t think he has high upside as a NFL QB. But for a college QB he is at worst top 15 talent for anyone halfway objective.
I never ever thought Aune was a good QB here at NT. Duggan plays just like him on the field from every game I’ve seen. So Duggan rushed for 100yds, he only completed 50% of his passes and threw 1td and 1 pick and Kstate still won the game. So Why is your head so far up Duggans ass? Because he ran for 100yds in the title game in which they still lost? All I’m saying is the media is slobbering all over Duggan when he is an average QB at best.

Take off you SMU blue tinted shades and maybe you can read numbers. 11 more interceptions and 8% lower completion rate is better without including all the rushing yards and key plays he made with his legs. Dugan was the main reason they almost pulled out the Big 12 championship game a Heisman-like gutty performance.
He looked average as hell to me in the B12 title game as well. Again, I ask why is everyone up his ass so much?

Max Duggan. So that’s how a good college QB is suppose to perform.
They’ll lose next week for sure if he plays like he did today. 14/29 225yds 2 ints & 2 tds.

Duggan
3321yds, 30td, 4int, 65% comp
Aune
3547yds, 33tds, 15int,57%comp
Ok, so he’s a little better than Aune. By the way, I’m no way defending Aune, I’m just saying Duggan always looked average in every game I ever watched him in.

Is this comedy? If so, well done.
Duggan was a Heisman candidate.
Aune was a YMCA MVP candidate.
Only because TCUs defense carried him there.

I mean, lets not kid ourselves, Georgia is going to spread them over toast and have them for breakfast. But I also thought Michigan was a guarantee win tonight, so who knows. Gonna be fun either way!
TCUs defense is elite. They have a ton of speed. I wouldn’t count on Georgia stomping a mud hole in them. Georgia has more speed on offense and defense that Michigan does.- 1

Great game! Happy for the Frogs! Why is everyone up Max Duggan’s ass so much all the time? Dude is a mirror image of Aune on the field.
Can’t wait to see them play Georgia.- 1

First strike for me. Zero experience and coaching a critical position. This is the first WTF moment for the Morris era.

Don’t say his name too loud or McCarney will return
I saw a Gray Porsche hauling ass on 35 from Denton this morning. License plate said GRYGUUS. Started laughing and wondered if it was ol’ Coach McCarney driving it.- 2

It's great we flipped someone from Denton, but really it's not important he is from Denton. I don't think we need to focus on signing Denton kids just because the University is in Denton. There is too much high school talent within 50 miles of Denton, making a priority to recruit the city limits is silly.
Agreed, but we absolutely should be hitting DFW really hard.

Hope it’s not a major injury. Saw him slip and not get up and was immediately thinking that can’t be good. Wish KD the best and a speedy recovery.

This thread is nothing but old guys yelling at clouds…
the player sat out, who knows really knows if this was planned and communicated to the team before or not… the kid did way more for UAB than he got back, and taking him on a flight to the Bahamas, and that is not costing the team anything since the bowls put up the costs of the rooms etc…
the dude laid it out on the field this past year and ran the ball and took a damn pounding. Allow the guy to enjoy the Bahamas… plenty of other people on this board have done things to take advantage of situations on the way out, so stop being upset over soemthing that does not affect anyone remotely close to this board
edit—just to add on as well.. no college football team is required to keep these guy each year, these guys compete each year for a 1 year renewal of their scholarship… the university can drop them at any time.. the idea the guy getting his body beaten up and taking a pounding, while a bunch of forum posters complain about a college kids free Bahamas trip, what a joke
Agreed. Bunch of old geezers looking for something to get mad at. No one knows what really went on behind the scenes. If he’d been hurt he still would travel. Who gives a crap if he made a last minute business decision.

What about all the games he played during the season to help the team get there? He’s still deserving of a trip to the bowl game if he played or not.

Ok, my apologies.
I still think Duggan is an overhyped media darling. But I hope TCUs defense can slow down UGA or OSU next week. Would love to see them bring the title back to FtWorth.
