  2. Does anyone know if the alumni pavilion will be open for a game watching party when UNT plays Western Kentucky on 11/12? I've never been to the alumni pavilion before, and i'm thinking about joining the alumni association. I understand that on game day that the food (and face painting) is complementary and that beer is $3. Is that true? Is it usual for out-of-town games to be shown at the Alumni Pavilion?
  3. Western Kentucky offensive lineman Brandon Ray was charged with careless driving and an aggravated count of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol following an incident on July 9. Ray, 20, was driving the wrong way down a one-way street when he was stopped by a member of the Warren County Sheriff's Office. Ray failed multiple field sobriety tests and registered a 0.162 percent blood alcohol content level at Warren County Detention Center. In the state of Kentucky, the legal BAC limit for drivers under age 21 is 0.02 percent. Ray was released the following day after posting a
  4. Conventional powerhouse programs are casually uprooting, formats are being rearranged like kitchen tile, and dual-threat quarterbacks act as a quintessential for the modern era. It goes without saying that college football has nonchalantly flipped the switch, and the latest rendition of alchemy comes with the preview of Western Kentucky, a Conference USA bunch that catapulted its way up to 4th in the nation with 536.9 total yards per game in 2014. Can the ‘Toppers build off last season and be even better this year? 2014 Record: 7-5 Key Wins: at Navy, at Marshall, Bowling Green Players to Watch
  5. North Texas Western Kentucky’s third and final Thursday night contest comes at the fancy Apogee Stadium in Denton. North isn’t expected to challenge for a West Division title or even make a bowl game in 2015. The only thing that should peak WKU’s interest in the possibility of facing former quarterback DaMarcus Smith. The main concern here for the Tops is that the trip to UNT comes on a short week after playing Middle Tennessee. read more: http://www.wbko.com/SportsInsider/headlines/BISHOP--Ranking-WKUs-football-opponents-by-matter-of-importance-311677731.html
  6. Thursday October 15th - Western Kentucky HilltoppersApogee Stadium, Denton Texas DaMarcus and UNT will face his old teammates and QB nemesis Brandon Doughty in Denton... That game could be really fun. WKU will be stout. Doughty is one of the best QB's in the country and will likely play in the NFL.
  7. Conference USA commissioner Britton Banowsky, who was in Bowling Green last Tuesday to welcome Western Kentucky to the league, spoke recently with The Courier-Journal’s Michael Grant. What kind impact do you expect WKU to make in 2014-15? “I think about it in the long haul. I normally don’t think about it in a one-year increment. But I think they will make an immediate impact. They add a lot of history and tradition, particularly in men’s basketball. We expect them to give us a lift.” What does it mean for the league to have a Kentucky school back in C-USA? “We had a great experience
  8. BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Western Kentucky University football coach Jeff Brohm is happily wearing a black Conference-USA shirt. The logo for the new home of WKU athletics is already on the Houchens Industries–L. T. Smith Stadium field and will be placed on the basketball court floor at Diddle Arena soon. There will be a party in the (Conference) USA on July 1 — the day the Hilltoppers officially join the league. The university is hosting a celebration with its coaches and the public at 643 Sports Bar. All the paperwork has been signed. C-USA is a go. Speculation about WKU making a move fr

  10. The Western Kentucky football team's bowl hopes took a major hit Monday. The GoDaddy Bowl in Mobile, Ala., which was thought to be WKU's best shot at a postseason game, opted to take Arkansas State (7-5, 5-2 Sun Belt Conference) over the Hilltoppers (8-4, 4-3), despite the fact that WKU defeated Arkansas State on Saturday. With Louisiana-Lafayette going to the New Orleans Bowl, the SBC has filled bowl its bowl spots. The four remaining Sun Belt teams that are bowl eligible Texas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Troy and Western Kentucky are now left to find an at-large invitation. Some bowls wit
