[Mean Green Baseball Project seeks to revive former Division I team]

Baseball fans !  In keeping with baseball traditions, we are issuing a RAIN CHECK for the talk Danny Suges was to give at the Denton Breakfast Kiwanis Club Wednesday morning.  Since there is threatening weather, we are postponing Danny’s talk to Wednesday, February 15.  Still at 7:00am.  Still at Rudy’s.  And I’ll still buy your breakfast.  Put this new date on your calendar and I’ll see everyone Wednesday February 15.  Play ball North Texas.

Why isn’t there a specific seating section for visiting fans at the Coliseum ?  There is on at Apogee and by and large, visiting fans sit there.  I’ve been told by visitors that they are told to “sit anywhere” when they come to Denton.  Now that’s bad on the ushers but why not coral them in their own section.  Where they can be controlled ?

Here’s a Coliseum fun fact…

Did you know that there are 4 different width seats in the Super Pit ?    This was done to provide an even number of seats, per row, as one goes higher and higher up the aisles.  The difference per seat is not noticeable until one stops and really pays attention.  Take a tape measurer to the next basketball game.  
 

Next week, we’ll talk about how cup holders came to be at the coliseum.

As promised, next Wednesday, February 1, my Breakfast Kiwanis Club will be having Danny Suges speaking on the status of the reviving of North Texas Baseball.  He will provide need of conversations he and other baseball promoters have had with Jared Mosley.  
 

We meet at 7:00am at Rudy’s and if you’ll come, I’ll buy your breakfast.  Just find me and I’ll do the rest.

If we’ve got an arena that holds 10,,000 and we’re planning  for the future by building a 7,000 seat facility, I’m going to call that building down.

There appears to be no end to the amount of money available to North Texas.  We have a wonderful facility now with the Coliseum.  Did you see where FAU and FIU play ?  Have you seen the junior high gym UTSA plays in ?  We have a facility with easily another 50 years left in it.  The only problem with the Coliseum is that we don't have enough fans to sit in it.  But the notion of building DOWN in order lower our expectations seems wrong headed.

Good idea but I think seat backs are more imperative.
