What am I missing here? How did this happen?
I dont think you are missing anything. He is going to Auburn as an analyst. Which basically means that his offensive mind is good, but they dont want him coaching or calling plays.
Basically they are willing to pay him to analyze tape and give feedback during the week, but not trusted to do any on the field coaching.

No information but my assessment of how this all planned out.
Seith's first call was to Stoops...Stoops was also in talks at UT. Stoops said he would get back to Seth...Seth waited for awhile, then called his old coach in Bennett to ask about other potential DC's. Bennett then informed Seth that he would be willing to come out of retirement and wanted back on the sidelines. Seth did a back flip, and offered the job to bennett immediately.
I truly believe Stoops was Seth's first choice, but IF he would have known that Bennett was wanting to come out of retirement, Bennett would have been the first choice.
Is Stoops better than Bennett. Man that is a toss up for me, but it sure does appear that as a DC, Bennett has been successful everywhere he has gone. Stoops on the other hand has had some real high ups and some real low downs. Stoops might have the bigger upside potentially, but Bennett seems to be much more consistently good than Stoops.

If proper protocols are followed, there is not cross over between the mens and woman's programs. Meaning that last week either ODU was very unlucky that it hit both teams or they were not following said protocols.

not trying to judge too much, but both teams having to postpone at the same time, sounds like a breakdown in protocols on the ODU side.

He's made some ho-hum hires and the money making sport for College is in the toilet. I think we are ok.

I think King is doing the right thing and staying in school another year. If he stay healthy he should greatly increase his draft value.
Agreed, but he left Houston to be drafted this year, and that didn’t work out. He playing at Miami did nothing to improve his draft stock, vs staying at Houston

I think a lot of the problem is the few cases were transferring has worked are celebrated to no end...a la Joe Burrow, Josh Fields, etc....but we dont hear near enough about the kids that dont ever get the call from another school, the kids that do get to go somewhere else but get lost in the shuffle, or the kids that fall while trying to improve... a la D'Erick King, he was on top of the world at Houston, went to Miami, had a few good games but ultimately it didn't improve anything for him, and maybe hurt him overall

Could just be me, but i feel like our Offensive players progress and our defensive players regress...that tells me it is not S&C near as much as Defensive coaching and scheming. You can be fast, but if you spend to long thinking about what you are dong or start off in the wrong position, more than likely your speed and strength is starting from a weakened position.

Well except Brandon Weeden. But he did have a hell of a college career at OSU
seems like i remember a kid that started at Tennessee then transferred to A&M that was pretty average, after his baseball career

I think one major issue to building an offense around Bean, is that to do that you would have to run the zone read quite a bit, and im just not sure his body frame is capable of carrying the ball 10-15 times a game for a whole season.

Here's a classic Bennett defensive tactic - announce your defense before the snap
1) he was the HC at SMU not the DC
2) if the kid makes the tackle he’s short of the sticks.

I honestly think between UTEP and UNT, we have some of the best play-by-play out there.
Sometimes I tune into another feed and it is literally gut wrenching. Worse than hearing an announcement at a M-M-M-Monster Truck jam.
I believe Teicher is an NMSU grad, too. Can you imagine if one of the MGRN was from SMU?Smu’s radio voice is a nt alum

I’ll take a defense that when I see a 3rd and long, I don’t automatically assume a first down

I don’t know what it’s called but last year I watched the one where you can hear the band and the crowd but no announcers. Makes me kinda feel like I’m there.
This is by far the best one...but doesnt look like they are doing that this year...guess that makes since with little fans

Yet none of them go to UNT.
Ryan and Guyer are powerhouse programs and Denton High has an occasional strong season yet UNT rarely brings any of those guys in.
You lost me with “Denton High has an occasional strong season”.
they ain’t been strong since Denton Ryan opened.- 2

While $$$ would be an issue, I see Chandler Morris is transferring from OU. We need a QB and an OC.
Daughter and Sister is already here.

You can argue Bean vs Aune, but do you really believe either one played at an all conference level?
Nether one was all conference or honorable mention all conference. If you believe those selections, than the best either one could be is the 4th best in the league.
hell no....we need to upgrade...but i feel like the better chance to do that is with Aune improving, as i feel like a lot of his issues was due to being out of football for so long.
My hope though is that another QB takes the reigns and doesnt look back...looking at Drummend or the kid from Kentucky

Strange pick, purely based on stats. I like Aune, but he was not the best QB on his own team.
Overall he was/is the better QB imo...Bean has a much bigger splash factor and when he is ON, he may well be the better QB, but when bean is off he is barely worthy of being on the field...Aune was much more stable and and consistent. If he were to cut down the turnovers, he would would be a tier above Bean to me.

Why is it every time something doesn’t go out way, we just fart and fall down on the next play?

i guess i understand our defense is bad, but it couldn't hurt em if we ever tried to play a little field position

Some explain to me like I’m 5 what we see in Bean. Absolutely a great athlete.. but an “air raid” QB?
When he is the fastest guy on the field, and when our receivers are clearly better than the DB's, he looks almost magical...when either one or both of those things aren't true, He is very very pedestrian.
