Crazy thing is, we’re going to see this play out at UNT with Morris and Mooney now… we’ll get a first hand view on two guys transferring in and one of them ultimately losing the starting job. Will be interesting to see it unfold

and add in a high quality HS signee and it will be interesting to see if 1, 2 or all 3 are still here by kickoff of the first game.  Can even add in our "returning" stater to that list as well in Stone.  I doubt more than 2 of them will be here past summer workouts.

Nah, Texas was ahead of Alabama anyway.  They were going to get in.  But the committee did not want to leave the playoff without an SEC team.

Funny thing is, im convinced that if Georgia would have won, FSU would have gotten in.  Once Bama beat Georgia they had to take Texas and they couldn't leave out Bama.

Yeah especially when Shorter could've improved on his best season and still not been drafted. He has more of a NFL build, but our best WR recently in Darden put up about twice his yards and TDs and nearly won the award for best college WR in the country and he only went in the 4th round. Our players rarely get drafted, it took those insane stats just to get seen.

1000 yards and 15 touchdowns (a generous assumption) here would've never been a magic pill for Shorter to suddenly get drafted into the NFL. Hate the game not the players, they're just trying to do what is best for themselves. We don't need to do victory laps when players that played well for us don't have success at their next stop like jealous exes. Just root for the guys we have here on the team.

playing devils advocate here....If darden had the size of shorter he would have been a 1st or 2nd round pick at worst.

  4. My guess is Chandler didn't do anything wrong as we have been told but i think he is just an okay practice player.  But when the lights come on, he is a gamer.... Unfortunately, it took Earl looking bad and Morris being forced to put Rogers in, for him and us to see that once the game begins, he is a much better version than his practice self.

Don't forget that the Rangers play Orioles in Baltimore this Saturday at 12pm CST for the first game in the Divisional round.

We will be there for the Navy game on Saturday, but we plan to make the trip up to Baltimore for Game 2 on Sunday at 4 p.m.  It's going to be a great weekend.

  6. maybe just maybe (totally spitballing here) we only used the 4 man front occasionally due to only practicing it for a week.  Given the off week coming up and then playing an ACU team, followed by run-heavy Navy, we should get some great time to install a large playbook with the 4 man front.

Of course, I may be completely wrong, and the stubbornness to stay in the 3 man front, come hell or high water, may still happen as well.

LaTech, Navy (hopefully), Tulane, SMU (is it really an away game when we have more fans there?), and Tulsa.

Those who know going to games at Annapolis, it appears all the hotels have been sold out for months or you're paying $500 to stay a Spring Hill Suites.  Are people just staying by BWI Airport?  Any recommendations?  Any small nice spots farther east on the Bay?

I don't mind paying a few hundred for a room, but I'd rather not pay $500 for a limited service hotel facing a Chili's.

We are staying in Washington DC and just going to make the drive back and forth.  Flying in Friday night and leaving out Monday morning.  Going to spend Sunday seeing the Nations Capitol

Also planning on going to Tulane and will probably be at SMU

Nice to hear about the up and coming upgrade in facilities after this season.

But! Please, please if part of that upgrade includes a new End Zone Facility don’t embarrass all of us by constructing some hideous looking structure.  If that can’t be done then don’t build one at all.

For once let’s make it classy. Something we can all be proud of and one that makes others envious of us for a change.

    For Once????????

I would say both DATCU Stadium and the Indoor Practice Facility both qualify as facilities we can be proud of and has others envious of us.

This post is similar to the one I posted on the football board.

There should be a “garage sale” for former coaches to sell their Mean Green gear.  Everybody knows the coaches get the best North Texas wearables.  When they no longer have use for it, make it available to us on down the food chain.  Shoes too.

I doubt to many of us could wear Mac's clothes...he is not a very big person..haha

I’m not picking on you but those points always bother me. The AAC didn’t claim 6 of 8 spots. Cincy, UCF and Houston claimed them and they have as much to do with North Texas as Alabama and Ohio St do. Of those 6, Cincy had 2, UCF had 2 and UH had 1. Memphis is the only one that we can claim in that point. (Tulane makes a second one….but that includes opponents that are going to the big 12)

5 of those 6 are not in OUR AAC so that stat means nothing.

Those are big 12 teams. We’re going to the AAC in name but it’s half CUSA now.

    MERRY CHRISTMAS!

While true of the teams, the fact remains that the winner of the AAC was the team that got in.  Since those teams are moving up it's not like they will still be in the running for that honor of representing the G5.  So fact still remains that the winner of the AAC will still be in a very good position to enter the playoffs.  It's basically a two horse race between the AAC and the Sunbelt.  CUSA and the MAC will not be there most years.
