I’m 100% convinced we need to hire a hype man for all the on the field games and stuff. That guy was fun to watch!

He is so damn committed to the first down run it’s frustrating. End of the first half, we’re on the goal line, no timeouts, 17 seconds left and ticking, team is trying to hurry to the line to get lined up and what does he do? Clock the ball and think for a minute to call a decent play? Nope! Why the hell would he do that? It’s first down, he’s going to run the damn ball. Nothing else matters except run the ball on first down.
These are the reasons he will never be a P5 head coach. He doesn’t adapt to the situation.

Well, the poster that originated this thread is a Dan McCarney fan. So, I'm sure he enjoys soaking in pedestrian QB play.
Pedestrian QB play can still win bowl games. 🤷♂️

Wife and I will be in attendance. Have previous commitments on Friday night so we land at 7 am Saturday. Going to drop off the luggage at the hotel and head to find an energy drink and the alumni tailgate. Here's a link to that info: https://untalumni.com/events/las-vegas-unt-alumni-tailgate/
Looks like they are also hosting something on Friday night too. It's free with a cash bar. Here's the link to that event: https://untalumni.com/events/las-vegas-scrappy-hour/

Blah, blah, blah…
Most of this could/should have been anticipated before hand. “Why wasn’t it?” is my question.
Most of this stuff wasn’t an issue in the past, so why did they drop the ball to make it an issue now?
I still like WB a lot (like a lot, a lot), but his luster is beginning to wear off with me. He’s been great for all sports except the biggest one that I care the most about and it’s starting to show on and off the field now. Hope he can turn this ship around.

I told them if they really wanted to know what people thought, they could spend 1 hour on this football forum and they’d learn enough to keep them busy all year.

Was this a new pre game tradition? We missed the raking of the field as well. Are leaves brought in? Donate? How does it work?
Lol, thanks for pointing that out. I edited my original post.

I don’t think SMU’s preparation for that play is what led to the snap being bowled past the RB. I guess we’ll never know if it was a good call or not in that situation.
Bad snaps happen, and I get that. I have no issue with that. My issue is coming out in the same exact formation. That in and of itself was a bad call. It appears the play call wasn’t changed during the timeout.

For the life of me, I can’t comprehend this…
From what I remember, it was a 3rd and goal from the 2.
Team breaks the huddle and Aune lines up as a WR and it’s supposed to be a direct snap to the RB.
SMUt calls a timeout after seeing the formation. During the timeout, they prepare for a direct snap or some kind of trick play.
Every coach in the country would use that time to call a different play after having shown your hand already before the timeout.
What does SL do with the timeout?Evidently they stood around for a couple minutes talking about where the after party is tonight, because we come out in the same exact formation that SMUt is now prepared exactly for.
Now the snap was bad and we lost a bunch of yards. But I just don’t understand why you’d come out in the same formation. The element of surprise is long gone. Anyone have any insight? Or is this just SL being SL and enjoying torturing the shit out of us?

1) We walked straight into the UNT merchandise store ready to buy, and all they had were some golf shirts, a few hoodies, and some t-shirts. My wife says, "they don't even have any women's wear." WTF? The selection was absolutely pitiful for a gameday store. It's not "supply chain" issues either, it was this bad last year. A stadium full of customers but no compelling merchandise? Only at UNT.
Yeah, but did you see the truck bed taking up a huge chunk of the store? I mean, it looks super-cool 🙄. And it adds absolutely nothing to the experience. They could use that space to add more merch.
Also, not a single fitted hat on the shelves of the much reduced hat selection.

They had one person scanning tickets to get in the blue lot.
We were told the blue lot was full and to park in the red/yellow lot. Worked out okay since it was closer to kickoff and after sitting in all the traffic, we just wanted to get in the stadium in time to see the team take the field.

Just to be clear, when you say “talent gap,” are you referring to the players on the field or the game planning abilities for a big game of the head coaches on the side lines? 🤔

I always hope every team we play wins every game they play except when they play us.
I mostly agree with this. But I add nUTSAck and SMUt to the exceptions. I want them both to lose all games, always, forever and ever.

Great minds!I do appreciate the additional context you added. I left just enough for people to have to go Google who Paul Blake is. 😂

If he is guilty, yes. Then I wish him the worst. Hopefully he not guilty until proven innocent
Unfortunately, especially for a punter, this is probably a career ender. Even if it's never proven. For a skill position, a team might take a chance, but probably not worth the exposure to an NFL team for a punter.

I’m sure the Bills will be looking for a new punter soon.

Buy the tix through the ticket office. They're $50.
That's how I bought mine. But I'm curious what section they put us in. Hopefully their security will look a lot like ours and we'll be able to move about pretty freely.

Get off to an ugly 1-4 start.
SL finally gets the boot.
PB takes over and a newly inspired team runs the table to finish 9-4 with a bowl win.

1st road game for me outside of the DFW area and bowl games. Loved the experience at the tailgate! Has us already talking about the possibility of going to more road games in the future.
