We’ve only had about a dozen shades of green used in our history. One of them was bound to match someone else. 😂

I loved the first minute of this video! Did anyone else catch what he said about the weather? He talks about one game in his time there that the team didn’t perform very well in bad weather. I remember that game, and I loved every drop of rain that fell at Apogee that day and was proud to stand in it and cheer on our Mean Green!

You know if there’s a fight, there’s a video out there.

I'm never a fan of gouging a loyal fan base for more money when our teams play in a football stadium 2/3 filled (at most) and a basketball facility that rarely touches 50% capacity.
Again, this is why we need smaller facilities.* Environment gets far superior and demand goes up. Otherwise, just disgruntled fans paying more while sitting in an echo chamber asling yourself why do I do this.
*if a new bball facility is built, it can only be 5k at maximum.
* rip the wing out of the football stadium and put the big scoreboard there when they start renovating.
Normally, I'd agree with you. But I think we now have administration, staff and alumni that are committed to building the programs up. No need to build smaller or tear out the wing when you are moving into a bigger/better conference and are committed to building the programs up.

I just got my renewal email this afternoon for section 106. Looks like the price stayed the same from what I remember paying last year.

Nice to see it being called a “spring game” again. I hope that’s what it is.

Ah, JonathanDavis!
Woulda thought most would've gone with 'Freak on a Leash', but this is pretty good. However, this listener both agrees and disagrees with yuh and this take at the same time.
For a football stadium, being open-air, full of people, with time constraints, et al....it's kinda hard for this user to imagine fans to hear in-person the intro and broadcast viewers to have the patience (in this day-and-age of 30-second-or-less attention spans) to allow this to 'grow' on the fan base as a new tradition.
Nice title (because birds-of-prey could 'peck' at eyes, for example), but the rest just kind of....trails off and ends unexpectedly.
See, this user is passionate about professional wrestling, admittedly more so in the past than in the last fifteen years, or three years, especially, and the prevailing logic is that wrestlers have to react differently to stadium crowds, compared to (roofed) arena crowds, because the acoustics are different (this is a 'music school', right?), primarily because the sound 'floats' upward and out, as opposed to 'back at' the fans indoors.
With a lesser-known song and a raucous crowd chattering before an entrance, and referees waiting to start the game, it's hard to wait too long and with such an intermittently low sound effect, some may think is just distant gunfire or falling objects, IMHO.
Would welcome the chance to be proven wrong on this, however, and would need to hear it twice, in-person and over a broadcast, to more suitably gauge the efficacy.
Whilst still in the early '00s, this poster would be remiss not to toss out KidRock and LimpBizkit (an old flame, as it were), and the like.
Then there's BillyCorgan and SmashingPumpkins and/or MarilynManson!
Hmmm....this user had a thing for Metallica's 'St.Anger' and 'SomeKindOfMonster' back in the day (yes, this user is one of those who liked something from their '03 catalog, 'trash can drums/cymbals' and all)....since aa bird-of-prey can be seen by some as a 'monster' (such as legends of large birds swooping in and claiming children out playing, a la old episodes of 'MonsterQuest' and Aztec/Mexican lore), how about the latter, as the turkeys have for their entrance?
That COULD be well-paired with this user's idea for a new uniform concept of a mash-up between the 'Mean Green Texas Battle Flag' and an eagle's head/beak, perhaps as part of a promotional video package complete with a fog machine and lasers!
Food-for-thought....er....listening.
It is a bit long for an intro. You could use the 30ish seconds or so leading up to the “Are you ready?” line. I just think it would be really cool to hear that guitar and drum build for a bit with the team in the tunnel to see them run out as Jonathan Davis growls, “are you ready?” and the fireworks go off and the crowd goes crazy as the song really opens up after that line. Would be amazing.Would also love to see the team run out to Stone Cold’s song and smash some beers on the 50 and start shotgunning them. Or maybe they could do Blind at the beginning of the game and Stone Cold beer chugging for the 2nd half? Pretty sure we’d sell some tickets to be able to see that happen!

Few songs can build up to an intense intro like the first minute of KoRn’s Blind.

That's out of my price range.
Those prices are per table. So it could be split with friends or fellow alumni. Details say 8 per table for the $1,000 white section. So it’s just $125 per person and includes 2 drinks. I don’t think that’s bad at all to see Pat Green in a unique venue with less than 900 attendees. I’m not even a big fan of Pat Green and I’m thinking about getting some friends together for this.

This was hard to attend. My wife went to TCU so she really wanted to go. But at least we got to check going to a national championship game off of our bucket list. ✅
I’m just really glad it was raining so I could cover the purple I had to wear with the only raincoat I own… a UNT raincoat. I was the only person in that stadium sporting any green and I loved it. Go Mean Green!

The Green Room is also available as a podcast. I don’t watch it on YouTube, but I listen to it. I really like the shorter form of it. Most episodes are around 30ish minutes so it works really well for me.
I also liked the Firing Boomer podcast last year, but I don’t think they put anything out this year.

Don’t kill the messenger here.
A history of 20+ point losses in big games, having fired your head coach for such performances, being a 12 point underdog, and an 8:15 pm kickoff doesn’t encourage a lot of people to buy tickets.I understand none of these are valid reasons for a hardcore fan like those of us who spend time on this board. But for the casual fan, which is what you need to sell out a bowl game, these are some of the reasons to not go.

Least impressive hires so far. But considering how outstanding all the other hires have been, this isn’t saying a whole lot. Hope they can be successful here!

You're probably right but I still have a lot of family and coworkers who say we were stupid to let Littrell go as soon as we did and it makes me mad.
Did these people even follow his career here? Certainly not. I’ve had no problems justifying his firing to people who have asked me about it.
The only thing I feel bad about for SL is all this money that’s been pumped into assistants and other staff that SL wasn’t given. But then EM hires someone and I ask myself if SL would have hired this person or someone better/more valuable. The answer is “no” and I don’t feel so bad anymore.

Jason Bean doing Jason Bean things in 3rd OT tonight.
Was a great come from behind effort to tie it at the end of regulation on KU’s part. Really fun game to watch.

I believe it was @TheReal_jayDwho mentioned in a since-deleted thread that Morris would have a much larger assistant coach salary pool than SL did considering his salary is about $600k less than SL's. If true, it's starting to show.
I believe the $1.2M number that was floating around about EM was never substantiated or sourced out. As far as I know, that’s still pure speculation at this point.
