  1. I have no problem being called UNT and using that more, but we need to come up with a better logo for athletics then the UNT with the diving eagle. That one is good for the university as a whole but its not a good sports logo. Either stick with just the SOW, or figure out how to make the UNT work better.

I just wish I was in the room for the media rights discussions.

Any broadcast/internet representative:  "Your conference just lost USC and UCLA, and therefore the Los Angeles market"

Pac12: "Yeah, but we're bringing in SMU and they have the Dallas market"

    Any broadcast/internet representative: "Who?"

Pac12: "SMU...you know, Southern Methodist University"

Any broadcast/internet representative: "So you're replacing Southern Cal with Southern Meth?"

Pac12: "Yeah, they bring the Dallas market"

Any broadcast/internet representative: "They don't even bring the University Park market"

    Pac12: "Look, we're desperate here"

    Any broadcast/internet representative: "Clearly"

    It trumps everything.

facilities can maybe help some if you’re not winning, but winning with bad facilities will always do more than losing with good facilities.

I’m not talking about “winning” as in 7-5. I’m talking about 10 win seasons. Top 25 rankings.

when UTSA has a couple of down years, their recruiting will drop. They’re winning at a 10+ wins a season clip, top 25 rankings. and they’ve done it for several years. No facility can compete with that level of winning.

100% agree. We can have the IPF and all these other things but sorry to say a kid isn’t impressed with a 2004 sun belt championship ring at this point. Have multiple 10 win seasons and conference titles and I guarantee we see an even greater uptick in recruiting! It’s honestly very impressive what our current staff has done.

Morris gave a scholarship update, we have 3 left. He then said something about "Brett Vito will probably tweet about this". He also called Brett up on stage. Said something along the lines about getting Brett to wear UNT stuff. Brett said he can't because he's media but does have UNT shirts in his closet. If you ever see Brett Vito mowing his yard, he's wearing a North Texas shirt lol.

This was the best part of the night. The outdoor patio on the other hand, maybe not the best decision!

Agree. Met him at the coaches caravan last night! Super nice guy!

My point is that the underlying tone for pretty much every conversation about SMU moving to a different conference is look at our NIL ($'s), look at our facilities ($'s), we won't have any issue paying an exit fee ($'s), etc. There's not really much talk about how good the teams are, how SMU sells out every game, how SMU puts a million eyes on TV's, how SMU helps other schools sell tickets, etc.

They can’t even bring 500 fans to Denton yet they think they are valuable to the PAC-12

  7. It would be awesome if we could fund 100 season ticket packages here on GMG to give to new fans. That would be 100 new people who could get connected to North Texas football, and in turn may donate and buy their own tickets next year and so forth. Maybe GMG could find a partnership with the athletic department and even make their own small section in the end zone or wing. It could become a yearly thing if it’s a success. I know I’d be willing to donate 80$ to make it happen. Would just need 99 others. Plus those 100 people could buy concessions, merch and other revenue drivers (like orange lot parking)

This is not the snake pit.  The snake pit was taken over by the University. This is the Kuehne Practice Facility.

this is not correct. they are in the snake pit now known as the Ken Bahnsen Gym. If you pause the video at 30 sec exactly you can see the sign on the scoreboard.
