Future MEAN GREEN softball players, Brittiny Chapman, shortstop, from Eloy AZ, and thirdbaseman Ana Vega from Tuscon, AZ have recently led NJCAA Powerhouse Central Arizona College to a #1 NATIONAL RANKING! In addition, Chapman and Vega are 9th and 19th nationally in RBIS!!! GO MEAN GREEN!

I think that I might run out of players if that ever happened.. I would bench them all.

MANDY HACKER, a 6 ft' lefty signee for the MEAN GREEN softball team, was named the NJCAA REGION XIV PITCHER OF THE WEEK Hacker, a native from Midland, Texas and a sophomore currently at Blinn College went 3-0 for the week, threw 17.1 innings, had an era of 0.00 with 10 strikeouts.

yes- they are building a new stadium. As for the architecture...... will not meet with for quite some time..... As for seats, I've been told 1500-2000 with about 500-600 chairbacks...... GET YOUR SEASON TICKETS!!!! GO MEAN GREEN!

SBC play will begin in the spring of 2004. The stadium is projected to be COMPLETED in the spring of 2005, but the field should be ready for practice in the fall of 2004. We will not use the current baseball field, ONLY the land. The 2003-2004 season will be played at North Lakes Park. GO MEAN GREEN!

Recent MEAN GREEN softball signee, Mandy Hacker, a 6-0 lefty from Midland, Texas and Blinn College, went 2-0 in her opening week. She threw 2 shut-outs, 17 innings and has a perfect ERA of 0.00. CONGRATS MANDY!!!

DoubleEagle- There are many pros and cons about starting a new program. I have not found it difficult to recruit to an inaugural program. I have been overwhelmed with athletes who want to be the 1st. ITS EXCITING AND A ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY! However, it is difficult to recruit athletes to 'BELIEVE IN THE VISION!' When an athlete goes on another recruiting trip and sees the "HYPE" related with that university, and then attends UNT and sees that there is no stadium, equipment, uniforms, or entire coaching staff in place yet, it becomes challenging. I like to believe that RECRUITING IS MY STRENGTH and my asst. coach has done an excellent job recruiting as well. Thanks for your interest. ss

Recently signed MEAN GREEN softball recruit Maureen Kelley was just selected as the Daily Oklahoman Big All-City Player of the Year. Kelley, a senior at Bishop McGuinees High School in Oklahoma City finished the year batting .480 with 27 RBI's and 3 HR's. In the Regional High School game against Western Heights, she was walked intentionally 8 times in 2 games.... "WATCH OUT BARRY BONDS!!!" GREAT JOB MO! ss

Dear UNTLifer- What a great name!!! Would love to have you and your daughter attend our games. Maybe a future bat girl??? The program is off to a fantastic start having a wonderful early signing period. Recently, we just received two more verbal committments!!! Our home games will more than likely be played at North Lakes Park. In 2004-2005 our stadium will be complete at Liberty Christian School. SEE YOU AT THE BALLPARK! GO MEAN GREEN! ss

Stan- Im very familiar with the apartment complex across the street from the BearKat stadium. My former teams have played there numerous times.
