So our starting QB is going to be 28 years old this season.... I like it

This is a hell of a hire, and one of the few people (at least as far as I know) that escaped the Baylor conundrum without any dirt on him. Good deal.

I know we've played against each other a lot lately but what's with the animosity? I look to all AAC or G4 schools to succeed unless they are rivals like Houston or Memphis or similar. We don't compete in conference, or generally for the same recruit level, or even the same student demographic. We should support each other.
SMU is a smaller school sharing recruiting space with us. If they can succeed at football, we can too, so it’s frustrating when our rivals are thriving and we aren’t. It’s shameful to lose a player to a rival and have the player call the other team home.

You have to feel good for a local kid coming home and moving up. Not like he's going somewhere in conference.
I'm sure you're bringing in your own transfers too
Why on earth would we feel good about one of our players transferring to the school across the metroplex that none of us want to see succeed?

He probably shouldn't have been hired here in the first place but this could've been a much worse story. Shanbour deserves that job.

Get this clown off the staff immediately. He already had issues at Baylor, this was his second chance. Give his job to Shanbour or Fine.

If we ran with a home/away combo of these throwbacks and nothing else I would be so content. These are perfect.

There is no basis for these restrictions and now we will lose so much of the atmosphere we have developed on the north side.
The basis is there's a pandemic happening right now. Whether or not you agree with the restrictions is moot. If you want to tailgate fully next year, it may be possible IF people make sacrifices right now. We're lucky we even have the opportunity to attend games. You can still tailgate... you'll just have to make temporary revisions as to how you go about it so that things can "get back to normal".

This is also completely false. I graduated in December and the ticket office have been very helpful and compliant when I contact them about attending games. 3,000 students can go to each game. Recent graduates can go to games. You can go to games. The whole situation sucks and I'm not trying to gaslight you or anyone else for being upset about it, but if we want 30,000 people tailgating and cheering next year this is what we have to live with this time around. It's fine to be upset, but these restrictions you have an issue with are still very generous given the climate of live sporting events at the moment.

Last season was so disastrous that there are too many red flags heading into 2020 for me to be optimistic. I just want to see better pocket protection, more offensive consistency/less predictability and Dion to do Dion things. If we can snag anywhere between 4-6 wins I'll be content.

Wearing a mask to games is the only way we eventually get to NOT wear masks at games. So yes.

I did not realize Aune is 26. Would be 27 for the duration of the season. That has to give him some sort of athletic advantage, no?

Hopefully we can buy some extra touchdowns with all the money we save by living rent free in their heads.

I thought I heard during the game the attendance was over 24k. I think we had one North Texas cheer last night. How about those xylophones last night. They are still the biggest in the land.
Attendance was 23,057 announced at the game. Which is still incredible for a UNT home opener against an FCS team.

Heard some bitchy parents complain about y’all being offensive 😂😂
Hah... look, personally, I really do try to avoid partaking in "MFing eagles" and stuff. At this point, it's just kinda corny and nothing more. But we go hard in the paint when it comes to relentlessly heckling the opposition. Come into our house, we're gonna do whatever it takes to get in your head. Last year we made an Incarnate Word lineman rage when we roasted him for getting pancaked.

I'm graduating in December, and in my third year at UNT, I can now safely say that was the most fun and - I'm pretty sure - the most packed student section I've been a part of since coming here. I don't know if we can get a tally of student numbers but I had to push and shove my way through a sea of kids to get to the front row on the 50. Never had to do that before at a game. GMG.

He warmed up and was in uniform but was held out.

SUnbelt is better.
And it isn't really close, either.

At the time I'm typing this the six CUSA teams that are playing/have played have accumulated a point differential of -35, including 3 FCS matchups. And we still have LaTech/Texas and MTSU/Michigan tonight to go.
We really need some teams to step up in non-conference. Badly.

Oh I have no issue with it at all. Regardless of whether Bean is here or not I want Aune starting between the two.
