I've also discussed this with Wren and as of a few months ago it sounded like the AD wanted to ultimately have a dedicated mobile app for North Texas sports. This app would allow you to reserve tickets if a student, purchase tickets for fan/alumni, buy merch, augmented reality, news, updates, etc. If done right, the app can provide nearly any type of data/metrics the AD could desire and also make it a seamless, interactive experience for students, alumni, and fans.

That would be awesome! How soon would that happen?

So did they win the conference championship?

They have a regular season conference championship...which if won leads to the number #1 seed in the conference tournament. I don’t know which holds more weight but North Texas has never won either until this year.

We've moved up to #48 with a 26-2 record.  Hoping that if we at least make it to the finals in CUSA Tournament we can still get a bid to the NCAA Tournament.  WKU is currently ranked #32.

I still think our ranking is a little off. Especially since North Texas has defeated Western Kentucky and Oregon St. both of which are ranked ahead of North Texas.

    Why?

They send emails with instructions on how to get tickets to the students email.. the same email students use for classes, enroll and get their tickets..

For members of this board that are students, like myself, we don’t care how to get tickets because we will always figure out a way to attend. The students that are casual fans are not going to sit there and check an email that looks like spam or an advertisement. A casual student fan is more likely to pick up a ticket on campus then go through the “perceived inconvenience” of getting a digital ticket. In summary, some students are very lazy. I don’t know what else to say about it other than I have heard this a lot this year.

I hate to admit this but there were stragglers in my group who had a hard time finding a place to park they were so late. We made it inside the stadium after the National Anthem and while players were being announced on PA.

Question: Did we do anything at all to recognize that it was Veterans' Day? Just curious.

Other than recognizing a Marine and current UNT student that earned a commission, I don’t believe so.

I talked to some students today and they absolutely HATE the new digital student tickets. Would much rather go by the booths on campus. Part of the reason being it’s kind of a reminder and that having a physical ticket makes you more likely to got to the game

Completely agree....I think they should still keep the digital tickets but bring back the ticket trailer on campus.

  6. Heading into a critical game against Western Kentucky Thursday night in Denton. North Texas is currently ranked 55th while WKU is ranked 32. If North Texas beats WKU this team should shoot up in the rankings, but my question is this. Is wining the conference tournament North Texas’ only path into the NCAA Tournament? Or could North Texas still get in based on strength of schedule or rankings? Excited to see how this unfolds as I can’t remember when the last time the volleyball team was in a position to make the NCAA tournament.

    RIce 36 vs Baylor 34

    NT 65 vs TX 12

Actually makes seeding sense.  The problem is why they think NT is number 65, while they have Rice at 34.

NT not only won the conference tournament, they tied Rice head to head.

Both teams lost 3 games, both lost to UT by 1 goal.  NT lost to number 41 Arkansas and Rice to number 50 Memphis.  In conference, NT lost to ODU and Rice to Charlotte.

NT did have 2 more ties to go with 2 more wins, but does that account for a 29 spot rating differential?

Maybe playing Houston Baptist and late replacement game Mid-American Christian University hurt North Texas in RPI? But I completely agree that winning the conference tournament should bring more of a payoff in my opinion.

Talk about consistently getting hosed by the selection. Rice at least got a semi managable one by playing at Baylor. Can't help but think that either that or drawing Okie State is the draw UNT should've had.

Rice is ranked 34th in the nation I believe while North Texas is ranked 65th. Regardless...I would have thought winning the conference tournament would have earned a better position...surely better than Rice?
