I Your right Thor, the friends and family visitation is at 12:00 noon.

i visited with Cary this morning. I met his sister and his mom. Very good people just like Cary.  Made you feel like part of the family. I had photos of Cary on my cell phone. I passed the photos over to his sister. If you have any photos of Cary, please show the photos to his sister, and send the photos to her.

    I will miss Cary !

We are so sorry to hear of Cary’s passing. Gone way too soon. I have a few pictures of our son and Cary after the UTEP game this year. Can you  please direct me on how to get those to his sister?

Such a great guy. May he Rest In Peace.

I'm keeping "The Standard" Mike Law, unless his mom comes on here and wants him.
    • Finished with a team-high 62 catches for 819 yards and four touchdowns

    Michael Lawrence

Marty you adopted him when he’d only caught a single pass the year prior. ( I like to add he caught every pass that was thrown to him that year! 🙂 ) He’s all yours. Thanks for all your support!

Looking forward to seeing everyone next week! GMG!

We will get production out of the slot. They have guys like Lawerence, Duhon, Darden and I'm sure that we have others.

That's kind of the whole point between an A and a Y

While both typically operate from the slot, your A is typically the Wes Welker type, and the Y is more of a big bodied possession guy like Thaddeous Thompson was last year.

    All of the above.

Littrell needs to single out players behaving that way and put an end to it.

These players need to act like men with class regardless of the scoreboard. They are representing the university, their families, the students, and us alumni.

    This.

So irritating seeing players dance to music playing over the PA. Even worse several did it while on the field.

  5. Our crowd was definitely louder and really into the game. Even when we were down by 17. The Rice crowd was a not a factor as they were spread out all over the stadium.

Talked to several of the coaches and players before they loaded the buses to airport. Coach Littrell graciously stopped and posed for pictures with some of the fans.  Everyone was so pumped! Great energy and optimism.

Video of the post game locker room celebration is fun to watch. I found it on some of the players social media. Based on snapchat, the celebration continued on the flight back to Dallas. Good to see the guys having fun.

Hope to see a big crowd Saturday. Gotta keep the momentum going. GMG!

  6. Had to cancel our plans at the last minute. I have a hotel room for two nights if someone needs accommodations. One King bed with sofa bed at Hampton Inn, 101 SE 1st Street, Gainesville, FL.  Reservation is nonrefundable, so I would love to recover some of the cost. Paid $200/night. Going to post it on a few websites as well.

  7. Great job guys. Ashton's description of Alec and Kenny was on point. These two guys are both leaders who know how to work hard, but keep it all in perspective.  They have had a significant, positive  impact on our kid.

@Harry great to meet you at the tailgate. Hopefully our boys will meet up on the 40 acres. @Aldo we enjoyed meeting you and the family!  Big thanks to @EagleMBA for allowing me to interrupt his culinary experience of Tony's balls and possibly ? a fried hot dog. ( I can vouch for those, they are Blue Ribbon, Grand Champion State Fair Worthy) Hope to see you all Saturday! GMG

I thought that the Athletic office had gotten better, but I have literally called them all day with no answer. Left a message earlier this morning and nothing.

I bought tickets from Ticketmaster and it says I can get mobile entry with them, but when I go to manage tickets, it just shows "Action Required" on the status and has no where I can get a bar code or anything for them to scan.

Does any one have any insight as to what I need to do to make sure I can get into the game?

Have you already dowloaded the Ticketmaster app ?

I'm going to suggest a sleeper who's barely had a nap.  PWO Michael Lawrence keeps making plays.  I don't know that he makes it to the two deep this year but it would not surprise me if he put up Casey Fitzgerald-like numbers before he graduates.

    Good pick!

It gives Baker a seat at the table with all other VP's.  It gives him equality to other VP's...that's a good thing.

Exactly. It has to do with leadership and governance. The VP title puts him at the table with the executive leadership team. Doing so, incorporates athletics into the strategic decisions/conversations for entire university. Improves opportunity for communication across all divisions. Helps AD to see things from a broader perspective operationally, which hopefully will build strong relationships.  Although he reports to the Prez, the VP appointment makes him a part of the team and may minimize the age old criticism of athletics operating completely independently. Definitely the way to go IMO.

Things are looking up for the MG!

  11. Does NT encourage game attendance by engaging with local business to sponsor half time competitions for students to participate in? You've all seen these sort of things elsewhere . Random games like throwing a football through those big cans. Tic tac toe layup, etc. Also restaurants give out free coupons to students attending games. Tailgate competitions- you get the idea.

I think we are stuck with them for two more seasons. Almost certain. It was a three year deal for those. Hopefully, we get an alternate uniform this season we can use and fade the other home one out. The away uniform was not that bad. Just can't get over how cheap those home unis look. Damn you Mac!

Are these the uniforms you're referring to?

Also, UNTLifer, you may think matte is dull , but the young kids love that look. Course what do they know. Look at what they wear nowadays. They think skinny jeans look good.

Being a UNT fan outside of DFW, it is difficult to stay engaged. Proximity eliminates tv and radio programing, the Rivals site was several years old last I checked and there doesn't seem to be a recruiting service guy to follow on twitter. This board, to my knowledge, is the only real source of information for me. Please understand my comment hasn't been "vetted" by knowledge from other sources, experience, experience exposure. I have found it challenging using this board and deciphering fact and estimation from frustration and venting, but there is value. Although it may take patience, it does provide value and I hope you find it satisfies your desire for knowledge, understanding and entertainment. I hope you have additional resources to shorten your learning curve. Good luck!

I agree. Outside of this board, Vito, and a couple Twitter accounts,  there is not a wealth of information available. I understand your 'vetting' comment and appreciate that you readily admit/acknowledge the situation. I will take what I can get, but I do have a steep learning curve.  Thanks!

Eagle eye, I will weigh in to give perspective from a neophyte as you are as well. The 17 as far as I can tell are the big money donors running things financially in addition to road P5 games earnings. They appear (I claim no knowledge or experience in this matter) to maintain their cover of stealth in exchange for continued financial support, meaning, protection from some of the more vocal fans input by remaining unidentified. Almost quid pro quo if you will. It appears their numbers are small, thus concentrated, giving them a disproportionately large influence. If there would be, say, 200 large donors, a couple getting pissed off would have a negligible impact. To the point, who they are. A closely guarded piece of information for sure, as those privy to such information keep silent for the perceived benefit of the university. Modern day Knights Templar, the higher education Illuminati. They are ever watching, never recognized, always moving, never seen.

Thanks UTSA Fan for providing your perspective. Looks like I opened up Pandora's box getting in on this thread.
