Sure.   I just hope that's not the hold-up here.
I'm a product of a Dr. Zimmerman-led Biology department at UNT... extremely hostile to the idea of a Creator.
I'm also a Christian who went to (and still go to) church in Denton and joined a Christian student organization while on campus.

If this is the case and Mr Novil is reading this, I say: You gotta be salt & light brother.  Don't shelter yourself.   Can't fault you for wanting to stay close to home if that's what it comes down to, but I will say I met my lovely wife at UNT, and she is an alum of your high school.   Good things happening in Denton!

At the same time I am a Mechanical & Energy Engineering major and I see one of my current professors every week at church, so plenty of Christian professors as well. Regardless of their faith, there are a lot of good professors that are there to help you if you need it.

sorry I can't figure out how to embed it. Looks good in this short video. I'm a big fan of Mason Fine and while he had his struggles (just like any freshman) I think he showed a lot. Should be an interesting competition between Mason, Isadore, and Pearson. Regardless have to feel a lot better about QB than any recent time.

Littrell and Coach Brown stopped by today. Most likely to talk to Noah Jones but also wouldn't be surprised if they talked to:

http://247sports.com/player/l-t--jessie-75959  (Looks like he now goes to Lancaster but his 247 isn't updated, however his ESPN is)

and scout lists us as interested in:

    http://www.scout.com/player/202383-jordan-hollis

These seem like the likely targets as the only other guy with a recruiting page with interest is a ESPN 300 player committed to TCU and had Oklahoma visit today as well. Good to see the coaches out recruiting and look forward to see the last few guys they get to round out the class! GMG!

IMG_3863.PNGHe has reopened his recruitment. Might this be the guy that came down this weekend and his coach didn't want him to be named because he was committed elsewhere? Will be interesting to see where he ends up.

His 247 page has his official visit to Ohio on January 13 so he wouldn't have been here this weekend. Still hope we can get him though. Hopefully a good sign that a week after we offer him he decommits

    Malik Jackson, Taylor (Tulsa commit)

Brian Parish, Arlington Seguin (Texas State commit)

    Jacob Brammer, Richmond Foster

    Manase Mose, Euless Trinity

    Tyreke Davis, Denton Ryan

One other big time target is visiting. But he is currently committed to another school. I was asked to leave his name off the list. Until he makes decision on school.

The suspense is crazy on who the big time target is. Will be interesting to follow for sure and hope we get that recruit! Thanks @TheReal_jayD for keeping us updated!

  6. Not sure if he is visiting or not but Malik Jackson, WR, Taylor TX is now following Bryce English and Tashard Choice.

Also Brian Parish, T, Arlington TX is now following Jacob brammer and Malik Jackson so he might be here as well. He is currently a TXST commit.

  7. http://notredame.247sports.com/Article/Marty-Biagi-leaves-Notre-Dame-new-UNT-special-teams-coordinator-50499266

"“As a graduate assistant, one thing head coach Petrino did was put a lot of responsibilities on their GA’s,” said Davenport. “It was Marty and [current Notre Dame offensive coordinator] Chip Long. Marty got a kid from North Carolina named Chris Smith, a defensive end who is now with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Arkansas rarely, if ever recruits North Carolina. That was a big get. He had a lot of offers. For a guy to get Chris and his family to visit that summer and then for an official visit during the season and then sign him, that’s big. Marty was also able to get a receiver from Virginia, Quinta Funderburk, another four-star recruit. He was the lead recruiter on both of those guys. That in itself is quite impressive.

“I remember the kids really liking Marty. He related well to him. He was younger and is still a young guy. They really enjoyed the way he recruited and related to them. The guys on the team enjoyed being coached by him.

“He had special teams responsibilities under Petrino. I know he also did well as a defensive backs coach at Southern University. I just always thought Marty had the chance to be a head coach 10-15 years from that point. Very detail-oriented, well-liked. Overall, as a graduate assistant, he did a really good job. Not many GA’s could be a lead recruiter for a guy, but he was and he did well. He didn’t even go off campus. He did it all over the phone. It’s pretty impressive. He’s relentless and a hard worker. The kids said that about him.”

Biagi brings a great deal of knowledge to his new position at North Texas, but as seen above, a ton of experience on the recruiting trail."

Seems like a good add. I liked Perry as well but seems like he hasn't been as active recruiting this season anyways. Also I believe that Littrell has earned the benefit of the doubt and he knows what he is doing. So while some may be skeptical right now, I think we just need to watch this play out. It also doesn't have to be Perry is good and this guy is bad or vice versa. They can both be very good but with salary and coaching philosophies maybe Biagi works better for UNT now. Regardless I wish Perry the best!

  8. His 247 lists his UNT offer as May 2015 so I wonder if Seth Littrell and company are even recruiting him. Looks like he was suspended twice in high school, though not sure if that was for grades or behavioral problems. Really weird too that it looks like he hasn't gotten any offers since June of 2015 according to 247 and has put up monster stats and is a very high rated recruit. So I wonder if we are really in his top 3 as scout lists or not. The whole situation is a very weird one that will be interesting to follow the next month.

Looks like we are in his final three with A$M and Baylor.  Wouldn't that be something if he ended up in Denton.

Looks like he wants to still go to Texas but got scholarship taken away because of grades. Have to think that if he is a late qualifier all of his other offers won't be valid anymore as those schools will probably fill up classes, with Baylor maybe being exception. Hopefully we keep a spot open and he found his way to Denton. Would have to be one of the best high school players UNT has ever added. Will be interesting to follow him and Eleasah Anderson to see where they could end up. They could be the type of lucky adds that could turn things around real fast, though still not likely they end up with either.

McNeal retweeted this. Would be crazy if we could add our 3rd former 4 star recruit to play next season. With Bryce obviously coming here for family reasons, and Guyton and McNeal being pursued by top P5 teams right now, I doubt their team violations were anything too bad. That means that we could add 3 potential star players that had to leave former programs for reasons besides their on field ability which is a huge turning point for UNT. These guys' questions aren't on the field which is definitely a different narrative than former transfers UNT has added, with potential baggage off the field likely not being too bad as still being recruited elsewhere as well. Insanely improved team this year and looking like it could just be a small stepping stone compared to potential seasons down the road! GMG!

also since we just dismissed 2 starting wr's it would be a surprise and puzzling decision if we took on replacements that had problems that were in the same severity or worse.

Is anybody recruiting this young man?  Outside of Hudl, none of the recruiting sites have anything on him.  I applaud you for your diligence in wanting to help a family friend, but maybe there is a reason only low level FCS's are sniffing around.

Especially considering the people that keep promoting these players are the ones that constantly complain whenever UNT recruits a player that doesn't have multiple P5 offers...

  12. Got offered by Utah this weekend on a visit there. It looks like him and Eno Benjamin, another former Iowa commit, may be close so they might end up being a package deal. If true, even though not likely, I'd love to see both in green!

By the way here is a tweet from his dad:

    https://mobile.twitter.com/CorralesGreg/status/799739789583020038

interesting that he only mentions the UNT offer and not the handful of P5 ones. Hopefully his dad helps sway him to UNT!
