  1. A lot of these meat head coaches think a long these lines. Jim Harbaugh said similar things not that long ago. Harbaugh just articulated it much better. A lot of these guys are woven with the same fabric. UNC is just looking for a justifiable exit strategy out of a horrible, and I mean horrible contract. Granted that is if they do actually let him go right now for this.

  2. One of UNT's 2018 commits came out of the community college (Independence, Kansas) that Netflix has chosen to highlight in their running docuseries.

I didn't finish the season, but he can be spotted on the field often and was also front and center when their D1 players signed LOI's. He was not featured as a main character in this season of the show, and that's probably a good thing since this show typically follows closely the retreads or basketcases. Guy wore #4 while there.

  3. With the Tennessee news that came out in the spring, he is not about dropping his anchor in Denton. He and/or his agent are obviously working with one ear to the ground. If he leaves, next man up. If he stays, great. But quit getting blown out.

I know SL has moved the needle in a timely manner, but 14-13 is still 14-13. And the record isn't all that ugly considering what he inherited, but the style of many of those 13 losses is.

Don't get the love for Marshall. What am I missing?  I also don't see the MUTS with a greater shot at the title than us. La Tech will be tough as usual and I am thankful we have them at home.

They recruit well and due to that will always have the OL and DL to maintain competitiveness in this conference.

  5. Good stuff!

An idea, and not sure how it would work as far as recruiting violations, but maybe reach out to the HC or position coach of X commit and doing a little 2 or 3 question interview on said commit. Maybe do the recorded interview and create an edit and bunch them into a podcast special. Go live with you and JayD and play the pre-recorded interview after a live synopsis by you guys.

Bet you can't find what these guys were all "rated" before our offer... sure it's cool but I'm more concerned with the fact we're beating out multiple 6+ FBS schools for recruits.  This staff can identify and evaluate talent prior to that talent blowing up.  But some people will always find some reason to itch and gritch

    I'm not bitching.

Offers and stars are synonymous. And please spare me the BS outlier you're already thinking about trying to dig up.

Identifying and landing are not synonymous. Have to do both. We haven't been. We are now.

To the point, it's cool (like you said) because stars matter.

  7. I know you said not to just say defense, but defense. I'll refine by saying scoring defense specifically. I don't care if we give up 500 yards of offense as long as  we can manage 25ish points per game allowed. We are legitimate contenders for a new years 6 bowl if we can have a D that allows 25ish ppg.

I just bought my tickets & apologized to my mom that she’s going to have to watch her hawgs lose in person.

I will be there as well. I grew up in Arkansas and a win there would be glorious, absolutely glorious.

I'll never not be amazed by what LaTech does.  There has to be something in the Ruston water, because - last I checked - it wasn't much of a looker.

I agree. I went to the Popeyes chicken in Ruston as I was passing through and it wasn't too far from the university and I though OMG does this town suck. LOL

Agreed. Place is an aboslute dump.

But, they love their sports over there.

At this rate we'll have 30, 3 star players committed by next week.

    Sounds exciting, right?

I think a consistent 60% rate per signing class is elite vs our competition. 15 per 25.

Want to know why programs like Marshall, Toledo, LaTech stay relatively relevant...It's because they consistently have a talent rich roster with 3 stars scattered throughout. Many of folks roll their eyes at these systematic rating systems, but the programs that are littered with touted players are going to succeed or at minimum be competitive.

    Keep the momentum going...no excuses.

Innovation is a lot different than inspiration.

They aren't innovative at all. At least not to my untrained eye. It's mainly the same routine, same in game songs, and same green t shirts and khaki shorts. I've literally seen high school bands the evening Friday before our Saturday games in full dress. That should be a minimum standard on Game Days.

And a college football marching band should present itself to the grand stand crowd pre-game and halftime. Not play grab ass as they lollygag to their designated hash. Our band is good at a lot of things, but overall presentation is certainly not one of them.
