I've really struggled to get anyone more than the usual me and my fiancee to get out to any games this year, which is really a shame, since everyone always seems to make it out to my baby sister's A&M games, and my entire family lives in DFW!?!? My dad is even using a colonoscopy to turn me down for the HOD.

Everyone is so hard on the Garage. I was once a classy gentleman, creeping around the Garage, playing non-stop 80's songs on their jukebox, taking ladies back to my penthouse in Kerr Hall.....

Ugh, I really hope the entire UNT community doesn't hate the Marine Corps now cause of this guy. I was a Marine for six years. In addition, I like comic books, video games, and not using my veteran status to troll sports forums....

Agreed. So don't go smearing it by saluting inappropriately just so you can say "HEY! LOOK AT ME. I'M A VETERAN"! Real veterans know what they did. They don't have to pass laws so everyone pays attention to them in a crowd everytime the national anthem plays

I understand that it seems like a cheap ploy by Congress to smooze veterans. I wouldn't put forward that any veterans that choose to salute improperly are being disrespectetful, just inappropriate and nasty.

That may be the new law, but I as a veteran, I can't stand guys that salute. When we were in, if you were out of uniform, you put your hand over your heart. If you're not in uniform, or not wearing a cover, don't be nasty and salute. Former President Bush came to UNT a few years ago, and I came in my dress blues. A bunch of the veterans saluted during the national anthem, but I, as per protocol, just stood at the position of attention because I wasn't wearing a cover. I was cringing for them the whole time. Saluting without a uniform or without a cover just looks nasty.

My lady graduated from UTSA and she she told me that had a mariachi band at their graduation.....

Hi all, This is my first post, although I've been reading and stalking this board for quite a while now. I'm a huge UNT fan, haven't missed a homegame in three years, even managed to muddle through the 1-11 season of my first year here. I was wondering if any of the experienced tailgaters here had advice for me. I'm marrying my beautiful fiancee in March of next year, who happens to be a UTSA alum, and her family is coming up from San Antonio, so I have been looking forward to this game since I heard both teams were moving to Conference USA. I thought it would be fun to tailgate with everyone, and while I have meandered through my share of tailgates when I went to school here, I've never actually done it myself. Where can you tailgate? How long before should I be out there? Are some places better than others? I'm not going to get in trouble if I'm drinking booze in the middle of the day? Just trying to get all that locked down so we can have a fun game day. Thanks! Go Mean Green!
