  1. I guess it has something to do with my pet peeve of posers pretending to be something they're not in order to engage in puffery believing it lends their opinion credibility. In 1978 I lived with three law students while they were attending St Mary's Law School in San Antonio. I played on their IM softball team and occasionally I would attend classes for them to take notes. It appears I know far and away more about the legal system, lawsuits, contracts and courts than a person that shall remain unnamed that claims to be an non-practicing attorney. To the rest of the board, my apologies for having such a low tolerance of total BS.
  2. ^^^^^^ This is what happens when you let women post on a man's sports messageboard
  3. At the risk of being accused of personally attacking you... You don't have the least clue what you're babbling nonsensically about and couldn't be farther from the truth. USF has absolutely refused to settle and have refused to pay Leavitt the one month severance called for in his contract even if he is fired for cause. USF has been stonewalling, dragging their feet, withholding documents and have refused to turn over discovery until just a few days ago after the judge ordered them to do so. Their attorneys have even gone so far as to state on the record in court there are no emails regarding the alleged incident because neither school President Judy Genshaft or Athletic Director Doug Woolard use email or have computers in their offices. How credible do you really think that is?
  4. OK...Look it up and let us know. Go for it.
  5. No, you wouldn't. USF has absolutely refused to negotiate and even refused to pay his one month severance. This whole charade is about nothing more than money.
  6. Leavitt was fired on January 8, 2010. How many job opening do you think there were that late in the game? And how many would even consider it with the screw job so recent?
  7. Whoa, whoa, whoa there big fella... He's not going to forego his lawsuit. Leavitt wants his name cleared first and foremost. That tells me right there if you were an attorney you would not be worth your salt. The lawsuit will go on and if he prevails USF will have to pay the difference of his salary between his contract and what UNT would pay him unless they reach a sizable settlement. Let's suffice to say Leavitt is on RV's radar screen, so it's you and the rest of your alumni is who need to be calling and emailing RV, not me.
  8. I'm going to miss the game because I'm flying to Ft Lauderdale tomorrow and going on two back to back 7 days cruises to the Western and Eastern Caribbean. I'm afraid I'm going to miss some really good events.
  9. Are you serious? Is this poster really someone in the Canales Family?
  10. This so called report was a sham. I challenge anyone that has been in management or even an attorney to read it and they will agree it is a very slip-shod and poorly written "report." There was no investigation, there was an inquisition conducted by Sandy Lovins a USF employee aided by an attorney that specializes in management side employment issues. All they did was interview 29 of the 60 people that were in the room and chose to believe the disgruntled players that said what they wanted to hear while ignoring and deeming not credible a Florida State Trooper, several players, the strength coach and a parent/volunteer coach. It was a screw job from the very beginning because Doug Woolard wanted to fire "The Father of USF Football" and not pay him one dime as well as flagrantly breaching his contract.
  11. ???? Dealing with the NCAA?? What the hell are you talking about, Willis?
  12. Jim will be the first to tell you it's not about money, but he also wants to live a certain lifestyle and be paid what he's worth. He started working at USF for $75,000 but grew the program and his salary to $1.8 million per. UNT has some incredible potential lying dormant and Jim is a cash cow that will earn enough to get his salary where it should be in a few short years.
  13. Your AD needs to stop pussyfootin around and call him.
  14. He wasn't just courted by Alabama and Kansas State, he was offered both jobs and turned them down flat. Mal Moore was absolutely stunned and could not believe someone would turn down by gawd Alabama! It could be said that Hurricane Wilma may be to blame for Kansas State not getting Leavitt. USF's first homegame was postponed until the end of the season because of Wilma, so this caused their season to end late. Bill Snyder offered him the job before the season was over and Jim told him he wanted to focus on his last couple of games before he wanted to make a decision. Snyder kept pressing him so Jim finally told him no. I walked into his office a few days later and he said, "I just turned down $7,000,000.00." I told him that wasn't such a big deal because the government would take half of it and leave him with only $3,500,000.00 anyway. Tom Osborne flew to Tampa to interview Jim for the Nebraska job after they ran that NFL coach out of town, but he pretty much knew Bo Pelini had the inside track on the job. Osborne said he wanted to come down and meet Jim in person to see what all the buzz was about. To say Jim Leavitt is intense about football would be an understatement.
  15. All RV has to do is offer him the job. What's he waiting for?
  16. Cussing them?? And you know this how?
  17. It wasn't just Joel Miller that said it didn't happen... A person identified as a Florida State Highway Patrol trooper close to former South Florida coach Jim Leavitt says Leavitt did not mistreat former walk-on Joel Miller, according to a document obtained by CBSSports.com. Leavitt attorney Will Florin says the document contains information that was "suppressed" by South Florida officials after they interviewed the trooper during an investigation into Leavitt's conduct. A statement signed by what Florin says is Florida Highway Patrol trooper Benny Perez states that at halftime of the Nov. 21 game against Louisville, "Coach Leavitt did not grab Miller's neck nor did he choke or strike Miller." Leavitt was fired with cause on Jan. 8 following a three-week investigation by the school. Leavitt was released not only for laying hands on Miller but also impeding the subsequent investigation into the matter, the school said. Perez would be the third person, though, who has said Leavitt did not mistreat the player since the school's investigation began. CBS Sports-Dennis Dodd
  18. Jim Leavitt hates losing. I think your next coach needs to put the mean back in green if you want to win.
