  1. I know how you feel because we Missourians make jokes about you Texas folks, too. How do you get to Texas? You go west until you smell it, then south until you step in it.
  2. I think you guys are close enough to Lubbock to know what a BS deal that was. Well...The USF deal was a much bigger, stinkier pile of Bevo poo than that.
  3. And you know this how? Oh, that's right...you read it on a blog written by a guy that believes Leavitt got him fired from The St Petersberg Times. It was set-up screw job by a rookie AD that came onboard a few years ago. Leavitt was not his guy and he was looking for a way to fire the "Father of USF Football" and not have to pay him anything at all.
  4. You can laugh all you want, but Leavitt is your best option to get a proven, winning head coach. You guys need to get a grip and come to the realization you ain't Texas Tech...or even Baylor. I can tell you this, RV is definitely not scoffing at the idea.
  5. I think Gary Pinkel & Company have that in hand and they don't need me to do any focusing. Unfortunately (sort of), I will be flying to Ft Lauderdale/Miami and miss the game and homecoming to do two 7 day cruises down in the Caribbean. Jim, though, will be there to visit his alma mater and his old buddy (and former co-defensive coordinator under Bill Snyder) Bobby Stoops.
  6. I knew Leavitt in college at Mizzou where he was a standout defensive back and baseball player for the Tigers. I notice your last home game is with Kansas State. If anyone in the country could coach North Texas to a win over his old boss, Bill Snyder, it would be Jim Leavitt. How would you like to close out the year with a quality win over a Big 12 Team?
  7. It's simply unrealistic to think Leach would consider the job. No offense to you guys, but Leach will wait for a bigger and better offer and he will have them. North Texas has a lot of potential to be a great program with the right work-a-holic in charge. Hire Jim Leavitt NOW! He hired Canales twice, so he knows how to work with him. Get Leavitt on the ground now and he will kick it up a notch and close out the year on the upswing, put some butts in the seats for your last homes games and get started recruiting both Texas and Florida.
  8. Defense you say? Well then you need Jim Leavitt...NOW! No offense, but I seriously doubt Leach would seriously consider the job anyway. If I were your, AD I would hire Jim yesterday to work with his old OC (twice) Canales, get the jump on recruiting, going through the learning curve about the players, coaches, high school coaches and Texas recruits. Texas is a recruit rich environment as is Florida, so wouldn't you guys like to have a guy that can recruit both states?
