I have some folks coming into town as well. So if anybody has any of these alleged free tickets I could have I would appreciate it greatly.
-
Try and sit behind the broadcasters if possible so that we can have our representation louder on TV. Did they give you tickets too or do you have to buy those?
Speaking of broadcasters, I've heard rumors of the Mavs' and UNT's own Followeezy doing the TV broadcast of tonights game.

Having said that, if you drink beer, do you prefer cans or boggles?
I think you missed my joke

I just don't get how people can be disappointed in where this program is headed.
I don't get it either. Nor do I get the thinking that an FCS program, that is in it's first year of playing football, is "passing us by" in anyway. It bottles the mind

Yeah, I am definitely joining the Mean Green Club next year. Mainly for the tailgate access. I want to say I tailgated about 3 games this year and it was a beating dragging all that stuff up near the hill. Especially when the side road is closed off right after the game. And I really don't want to tailgate at Fouts, I just really like the feeling of tailgating and overlooking Apogee (great view of the homeside/pressboxes).
I've tailgated at every game this year in the premium lot across Bonnie Brea from the stadjium (aka softball field parking). It's only $10 if purchased before gameday with a student ID or $20 otherwise. It's been an awesome spot where you can tailgate out of your car and still be within easy walking distance of the hill to go back and forth.

Here in Jacksonville, cyclists operate rickshaw bikes to take fans from distant parking lots to the Jaguars' stadium on game day. I think they charge $10 or $20. Is anyone doing that at UNT games?
Yes pedicabs operate on gamedays and they work for tips alone, no other charge I believe.

For all the complaints about attendance and tailgating is our problem the location of the stadium?
Is the off campus nature of the stadium that's keeping the students away?
I hate the remote layout of the parking lots and sprawled tailgating.
No.

According to espn dallas the game is being played @ Fouts ?
And according to dallasnews.com the game will be played at Denton's Apogee Stadium. I wasn't aware that the city is helping pay for Apogee

My guess was added because the game was on TV on the Sun Belt Network game of the week
Yes, it was only painted on because the game was on TV. I heard Hank mention it in a basketball post-game show or something.

I'm looking at google maps and wondering where said "sizable addition" is going to go. There's not a whole bunch of room around the union. Are they building up rather than out?
Don't remember where I read it or how much extra room it will create but I believe Highland street will be permanately closed from Avenue C to Welch.

Very excited about this game. I made the trip for the last game we played on the stage and other than the Tech game last year it was the most exciting Mean Green basketball game I've seen in person in the 3 years I've been in school. Quite the unique venue I must say

Not the biggest Tim MacMahon fan but thought that this was pretty cool and somewhat good publicity if nothing else: My link

On Wednesday, the Mean Green Dream Team head to the United Spirit Arena (terrible name) in Lubbock, Texas to square off against the Red Raider Rash of Texas Tech. The Red Raiders (1-0, 0-0) are coming off a win against Sun Belt's very own Troy Trojans (1-1, 0-0), 90-85. In this game, the Red Raiders posted big points from Ty Nurse who had 29 points (9-13 FG, 6-9 3FG). This will be a rematch of last year's game at the Super Pit, when UNT beat the Red Raiders 92-83 in what has become one of the most thrilling victories in Super Pit history. The rushing of the court, White's big three pointer and the almost SOLD OUT STUDENT SECTION immortalized this game in the North Texas Athletic history books. Both teams go into this game with a 1-0 record, just like last season. We travel to the flat, boring, and unappealing scenery of Lubbock, Texas tomorrow, so LET'S GET THOSE PREDICTIONS GOING!
-Win by 9
-Most points: Jordan Williams
-Pick to Click (P2C): Jacob Holmen
-Biggest Play: Big Trey Ball by Jordan Williams to put us up late.
GMG! Beat the RAIDER RASH!
Why is United Spirit Arena a "terrible name"?

He is 180 away from the all-time UNT rushing record. Don't know about the other numbers

My observations from the game last night:
1)As stated above Aston will not hesitate to pull someone out when they make a mistake.
2)Godbolt was a beast on the boards despite the Lobos size advantage.
3)Hudson has a real nose for the ball, she seemed to be making steals left and right.
4)Turnout for the game was horrible.

I was listing to the game on KNTU 88.1.
After the game ended, George and Hank were talking about the post game highlights, and locker room interview
with Coach McCarney.
Suddenly KNTU switched to the Guyer play off game, right in the middle of George's post game review.
The two guy's calling the Guyer game are said, this just in "North Texas wins, 38-33" "Thopson throws for
over 300 yards" Next these guys start on the Guyer game. I turned my radio off at this point.
I did see NT highlights on Channel ll and Channel 8 sports news.
I've had that problem before, it kinda sucks. But they keep broadcasting the postgame show on their sister station 100.7 so just switch over to that next time.

I hope Tyler continues to get a few minutes as the competition improves. I see him is a kind of an extra coach out there on the floor.
Yep, he brings a lunch pail and everything

I did notice that the pants were in fact Nike. Yeah, those pants looked terrible.
Well that's what I was worried about with Nike jerseys. Look at Texas' Nike jerseys, compression top and GIANT shorts.
-
I'm almost positive that the jerseys they wore tonight are not the new jerseys. I assume they are waiting until friday to unveil the new ones.

The shorts look like capris. They aren't baggier just longer. They are the most disappointing part of this night, by far.
Those aren't the new jerseys

My observations from the game:
1) We have some pretty good raw young talent even without Franklin and Mitchell. (Granted it was against an inferior opponent)
2) Chris Jones is the real deal.
3) Not only did Niko play well but he did some trash talking. (Not sure what language)
4) By the time Mitchell is eligible and assuming Franklin becomes eligible this will be a very good team. That being said I think it will take some time to get some of the mistakes out of their system.
5) Looks like we wore the old unis since it was an exhibition. I say that because they looked the exact same and didn't have names on the back.
I know those were pretty generic and not anything new really but I just figured I'd share... Oh and what I really took away from the game was that we're due for a road win at Troy on Saturday. (Wrong forum for that but I had to add it)
