    Whenever somebody digs a long-dead thread out of its grave I check to see if I praised Todd Dodge in it.

    Portland State beat a team called the North American Stallions 91-0 yesterday.

    I wish some of our fans on Twitter/X would keep their mouth shut.  This got us on espn.com week 3's best trolls.

    How did you overcome the rough start to the season?

    And so, I just took a chapter from you know my mentor, Michael Leach. Which, you know there were so many things that Mike taught me, on how to build a program from the ground up.   But we went all in on it and over the last two weeks I've suspended 12 guys and 7 other starters they didn't play against Florida International. We suspended our starting corner and middle linebacker last week because they didn't get their study hours and one of them was 17 minutes short of it so we've kinda gone back to drawing a line in the sand and just doing it the way that we've done it in the past now.  We have built this sense of accountability which it was hard for me to, like, do those things at first because they had so much success and I didn't want to come in and act like we just needed something completely different.

    How is this not a bigger conversation?  Did I miss this getting talked about? This would have made me feel better about that game had I known this.  To be honest I just scanned this topic the first time and didn't see this and had to hear about it on the Green Room podcast. Also, does anyone have more details about this? I went back and looked up stats so, I know Jordan Brown (MLB) and Texada and Davis (starting corners) all had stats, so they played. So, does that mean they were suspended for the first quarter or something? I was watching from my phone in a bar, so I didn't notice any difference in the personnel on the field.

    Sorry to go back in time on this, but I'm shocked this didn't make bigger news on this board.

    Good week to make the defensive adjustments that are needed.  In addition, the ACU game will be a good game to make real time tweaks for the remainder of the season. Couldn't have come at a better time.

    I would have rather had it after the ACU game so we had two weeks to prep for Navy's triple option.

    This story is all over social media today, our bigs better get organized.

    It's not being organized, it's that we don't have enough "bigs". And we never will unless the students and future students start caring enough to donate when they become a "big".

    Can they not discuss specifics about the game and the areas that need work rather than a bunch of happy talk? Listening to the last show was a complete waste of time!

    How long can you talk about needing to tackle better and not turn the ball over?

  6. As someone who didn't like the Morris hire from the beginning, let alone his coaching decisions and thought everyone should temper their excitement about Rogers, he deserves more time.  These first two games have been horrible, but everything changed from last year, and he or any new hire deserves more than two games before having his head called for.  I will have plenty to say if this season continues down this road, but for now I'm cutting him some slack.  The worst part of this thing is the defense and that can't be fixed by him, so Caponi needs to fix this ASAP.  I'm afraid this will be a long season, but I picked us to go 4-8, so I'm not panicked yet.

    I will say that the way Rogers played in the second half gives me hope for the offense this week.  We'll see.

    Jace Ruder, the former North Texas starting quarterback, has recently been taking reps at the linebacker position. Standing at 6'2" and weighing 222 lbs, Ruder possesses the size and athleticism that could make him a valuable addition to the defensive side of the field. It is worth noting that he might not be available for the upcoming game in Miami due to the birth of his child. This development is reminiscent of Gary Patterson's successful strategy at TCU, where he had a knack for identifying athletic quarterbacks and transitioning them into linebackers. It will be interesting to see how Ruder's potential transition to linebacker progresses in the future.

    I saw a number 6 jersey with Ruder on the back down at the defensive sideline against Cal, but thought we might have a different Ruder on the team.  Good for him.

    Mike Leach passed away :((

    We actually had a Pirates Paradise theme this year during camp with our head football coach Eric Morris. In honor of Mike.

    They were my first thought of an inefficient office (reality is there isn’t a team with that gameplan), all are trying to be efficient lol

    Yes, I know and B.J. hasn't played football at Tech since the early 2000s. My point was they don't sling the ball around anymore and haven't for a long time.  It was just a real dated reference you used.

    We need to be good on offense, defense, and special teams? Wild insight here.

    Constructive criticism here, I’m not a great writer either, I’m trying to improve. Clearly you put some time & effort into this but didn’t get specific about offense until you discussed run game.

    Almost every offense in America’s objective is to be efficient. Outside schools like Tech throwing 70x per game you could maybe say they’re trying to win inefficiently each week?

    When you picture Tech is Leach still sending plays into B.J. Symons?

    Not much from Logan that hadn't already been said.

    It was more of a joke.  Just thought it was funny that Wilson was the only one in the interview that didn't have notes.  Logan just muttered short answers back, so not much to make note of.  Like in the game, he didn't really tackle anything.

    Coach Morris:

    * They were bigger and more physical than us.

    * We need to react to adversity better.

    * We need leaders to step up and right the ship when adversity hits.

    * Addressed the tackling issue today.  New drills were instituted.

    * Have to get our running game going.

    * Correct missed assignments.

    * This offensive scheme is made to adjust to what the defense gives, but we will work to establish our run game.

    Stone Earle:

    * Good opportunity to correct the issues and play much better this week.

    * We have to find our rhythm.  Too many three and outs that hurt the defense.

    *  Execute better, period.

    Jordan Brown:

    * Time to execute better.

    * Stop the arm tackling.

    * Too many missed assignments. Have to focus on individual assignments.

    * Get better every game (response to a weak question by Vito)

    No notes from Logan Wilson?
