I don't want to hear and disrespect for Scott Hall. Although my vote goes to Booger, Hall is the best quarterback we've had in the last 15 years, all apologies to Mitch Maher. He kept that offense together, and made big players when he had to... Long live Scott Hall!

I live and work here in Weatherford, and yes, this is shaking our entire community. One of the posters asked about his scholarship offers. He was going to play at Cisco JC next year and then transfer to a D-1. He was Homecoming King, a member of the choir, made decent grades, and just an all-around good kid. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers for our town. And Go Mean Green!

This is a stupid thread. We need all the support we can get, and you are proposing that people NOT contribute? Idiotic. Why not just send your checks to MTSU, Louisiana-Lafayette, Ark. St., etc.? Historically, problems with UNT athletics have everything to do with lack of support. Don't bite off your nose to spite your face.

Everyone playing Chicken Little on this board after losing to Akron doesn't know college football. Akron won the MAC last year, beat NC State this year, and played respectable against Penn State. Even though hardly anyone in Texas knows who they are, Akron is a good football team. Actually, I'm surprised that we have a win this year. I expected us to be 0-4 going into conference play. Texas is a no-brainer, Tulsa won Conference USA last year, and SMU is much improved, having beat TCU last year. Our win over SMU was a big deal to me. I'm excited about conference play. This team is much better than last year, and winning the Sun Belt and going to a bowl game IS something to be proud of. That's just who we are right now. We're not TCU, we're not Texas....we are North Texas. And everyone who doesn't understand that should re-evaluate their expectations.

Incredible...with the year we had, we increased attendance? We tend to slam the athletic department on this board, but hats off to marketing for bringing people out to see a bad football team. I expect an increase again next year...

Um, this thread is incorrect. According to the Sun Belt official site, Arkansas State is going to the New Orleans Bowl, not UL-Lafayette...

I hate to jump the gun, but has anyone heard news about plans for the 2005 New Orleans Bowl? Could it be moved to somewhere like LSU? GMG

Some of you guys are so clueless. We have a national championship cheerleading crew, and you say they are pathetic. We have an award-winning band from the nation's largest music school, and you complain about them. Sorry guys. The cheerleaders and the band are two of the FEW groups that are getting the job done at UNT games. Quit dumping on the people that are actually respected in their fields. Some of you guys have too much time on your hands.
