I’m glad that Utah Valley played a push the pace, high octane offense against UAB. Bonus that it went into overtime.
You’re right that we’ve gotta play our style and put em in the meat grinder.

Big opportunity for Tylor tonight. Get the feeling he’s ready to show out after the CUSA Semifinals. Walker clearly played with the chip on his shoulder in that game after not being named CUSA Player of the Year.
Mean Green get the title and Tylor gets the last word in the best player in the league discussion.
Toughest team wins.

Flight booked and tickets bought. I have work Friday, but I'm doing a whirlwind trip to see this game.
Same! Hat tip to you! On my way now.

I am sure I will get bad ratings for this take, but I actually think we should drop football. Become a basketball program and add baseball.
I’m all for investing more in UNT Basketball - coaching salaries and especially a new arena. But I can’t get with anything at the expense of football. We can be great at both. Both need to be relevant.

Unbelievable win! So sports happy right now. Toughest team won. Way to grind em down after a rough start.
Headed to Vegas tomorrow night! Not coming back without the hardware. GMG!

Tech fans don’t like Mac or his style of play. He is just cashing out for the money it seems to me. He could be at UNT for the rest of his career. He will only be at Tech for 4 years.
No way. He’ll have Tech in their conference title game within 3 years. Grant wins at every level. Their casual fanbase is full of basketball morons. Their plugged in fans know what’s up. P5 fanbases as a whole simply can’t objectively discern player and/or coaching talent outside their bubble cause they don’t watch it to have a basis for real comparison.
See: the media, NCAA Selection Committee, and P5 fans complete and total miss on CUSA this year.

Cool interview. Hope we see him coaching on the Mean Green bench after he winds down his playing career.

Johnny Jones used to pad his schedule to make sure he would win 20+ games a year, but it didn’t really elevate the program.
….you’ve lost me.
An incredibly bad take.

I get that these are future AAC mates. I just don’t think post-season success outside of the NCAA tournament is going to do much to bump up the reputation of the league.
What??? Post season wins absolutely matter. They shape the future narrative of the programs involved. Current social media is flooded with comments about the group of CUSA schools post season performances, snubbing by the NCAA selection committee, and how strong the new AAC is going to be with them joining. How does that not have value?

Our basketball facilities are nowhere near Tech. We’re complaining about losing Grant, but there’s a sizable amount of the fanbase that thinks a new, modern basketball facility shouldn’t be the priority after the Athletics Center remodel. Worse - we have a subset actively trying to promote starting baseball from scratch.
You want to keep or attract top tier coaches, we have to give them top tier facilities. As much as I love the place - the Super Pit is no longer that. Hasn’t been for a long time. That’s just reality.

If it happens, it happens. Let's win tonight and keep him for another week.
He’s gonna go to Tech. Agree that it’s fine. Just hope it’s not a distraction tonight - and hopefully beyond. Get some hardware on the way out.
Then elevate Hodge.

I agree. I have been to many games where this number was much higher and it wasn't nearly as packed. By looks, this had to have been the highest attended game this season.
Even driving in, I haven't usually had to wait in traffic. That happened today.
I used to be in charge of getting the counts at games when I worked there back in the day. The crowd today was way more than 3,100 - Probably around 5,000 eyeballing it.

These are quality teams we have had and the attendance is sad. Win and they will come I have heard. Well we are winning but the crowds are not showing up.
0% chance that’s a legit number for today.

What an absolute beat down. Impressive senior day! Hope we’re confident and can take that momentum to Frisco.
Praying that isn’t the last game that we see Perry play at the Pit. What a special player.

Glad Stone was able to come back in overtime with several big plays to make up for the missed box out at the end of regulation. They just find a way to win.

How does the MWC get 4-5 bids?
No reason for them to get 5 and CUSA get 1. Our league reps in the NCAA Tournament have consistently over performed while perennially being under-seeded. Don’t know how the committee doesn’t see this.
