Lot of yall sleeping on Tulsa. That Braylon Braxton is a huge threat at QB. At best most of these games are toss ups. At worst, 1st year coach and a new program. I'm impressed with the way Morris talks, but that's really all we have to go on right now. I accidentally clicked 8 in the poll, but if we can get a 6 win regular season and a bowl birth, I think that's a successful first year.

He is very talented for sure.  Wilson is a solid coach as well.  It is certainly not an easy W.

It's pretty clear SMUT wants out of the AAC and in the PAC regardless of whether all those teams leave.  And, I have to admit, a conference with Oregon State, Washington State, and Stanford is still going to be much higher on the media and fan interest totem pole than a conference with Charlotte, South Florida, and UT-San Antonio.

Oregon State and Washington State really move the needle for you eh?

I would argue, Charlotte, UTSA and USF all have much bigger upsides, and are in locations much better positioned for growth.  Standford is a different animal.

I think with the new 12-team playoff, and conference realignment, it will be harder for schools like Oregon State and Washington State to benefit so much from conference affiliation alone.   They will now have to stand on their own feet.  I also think being on the west coast hurts them in terms of viewership and media coverage.

Remember this is not just about today but also what the future may hold.

  5. Just posting this as a comparison as it appears that the DATCU/UNT deal will be similar what University of Houston did with TDECU, ie naming rights but also becoming the official financial services partner of the university.

A historic $20 million partnership extension has been finalized between the University of Houston (UH) and Texas Dow Employees Credit Union (TDECU), Houston’s largest credit union, to maintain naming rights of TDECU Stadium through at least 2034.

While the gift is celebrated as the most significant agreement of its kind in the history of UH Athletics, the impact of the multitiered partnership extends well beyond the stadium or playing field. The nonprofit financial cooperative is expanding its support across the University in the areas of financial literacy, career development and food insecurity. The agreement was first announced in principle last fall.

They've turned the organization over to TheLinkU, a group that runs the U of Houston collective. Appears they target businesses & corporations to get involved in NIL. According to the article in the DRC, the Houston collective ( LinkingCoogs) surpassed $4 mi!lion with 75% of the money coming from businesses that didn't previously support UH athletics.

My understanding is that this TheLinkU  group took UofH’s NIL from initially around $800k to north of 5 Million in a fairly short period of time.
