  2. Mean Green Fans, It's official, the Pokemon Go craze has made it's way over to our very own beloved Apogee Stadium. Tomorrow, Wednesday July 20th from 6:00-8:00 p.m we will be holding a Pokemon Go event at Apogee. Apogee alone is home to five Poke Stops. On top of being able to catch Pokemon around Apogee, the stadium is also a Gym, meaning each player has the opportunity to unite with other Poke Players and hold battles around the field. Now catching Pokemon will not be the only aspect to the night, there will also be free drinks, snacks, tons of giveaways, prizes, and fun for everyone throughout the event. We ask that all Poke Players please park in the North parking lot behind the Wing and enter into the stadium through Gate 3. Gates will open exactly at 6:00 p.m. This event is sponsored by Mean Green Athletics, UNT Student Activities, UNT University Program Council, and the UNT University Union. It is completely FREE and open to the public. Bring your friends and family and we hope to see everyone come out. If there is any other question please email AthMarketing@unt.edu Go Mean Green!
  3. I was able to learn a lot about our student fee in my last post, so I'm hoping to learn some more about my school in this one. Thank you to everyone who replied concerning the student fee, I really appreciate it. I notice a lot of back and forth regarding RV. I want to know what you would do if you had the deciding vote on the BOR, specifically regarding RV. Would you keep him and why? Fire him because he's done what he can do here and it's time to get the person who will take us to the next level? Fire him because you think he isn't very good and is paid too much? Extend him and give him a raise because he's provided so much to the athletic department at North Texas? Or give him an ultimatum that it's time to start doing more and it starts with hiring new blood, much like a head coach who fires a coordinator to gain some breathing room? Let's refrain from personal attacks. It would be great to see what Mean Green Nation thinks. I know I learn a lot from reading each person's unique perspective, especially when it's thought out and fact-based.
  4. North Texas Athletics Partners with The Aspire Group for Fan Services DENTON, Texas – North Texas Athletics has entered into a deal with The Aspire Group, to add the North Texas Athletics Fan Relationship Management Center (FRMC). The FRMC, consisting of a manager and three sales consultants, is tasked with growing ticket revenues and attendance for Football along with Men’s and Women’s Basketball while maximizing fan engagement among the Mean Green community. “It was important that North Texas Athletics partner with a company that not only is the industry leader in revenue enhancement for universities and sports organizations, but the experts in conducting fan research studies and developing a customized Ticket Marketing, Sales and Service Plan” stated Paul Batchelder, Associate Athletic Director for North Texas. To launch the partnership, The Aspire Group has conducted a comprehensive Mean Green fan study to analyze fan identification, satisfaction, and behaviors with North Texas Athletics. The findings from the study will be utilized to collaboratively create a Ticket Marketing, Sales and Service Plan that will guide the FRMC operation. The North Texas Athletics FRMC Manager is A.J. Tomeny, previously a Senior Team Leader for the Buffalo FRMC. While managing the Buffalo FRMC, Tomeny oversaw $360,000 in revenue generation and sold one of the largest group sales at the University at Buffalo. The North Texas Athletics FRMC will use intelligent marketing and proactive sales techniques to lay the foundation for sustainable performance by generating a two way dialogue with Mean Green fans. “We recognize this is a critical time in the history of North Texas Athletics and we look forward to engaging the North Texas community in joining the Mean Green Family” stated The Aspire Group’s SVP & GM of Fan Relationship Management, Bill Fagan. “Conducting the Mean Green fan study will fuel intelligent fan marketing and service for North Texas Athletics fans.” The North Texas Athletics FRMC has already begun selling for the upcoming football 2013-14 season in Apogee Stadium, a $78 million facility that opened in 2011. The home opener will be against Idaho on August 31 and will feature the celebration of 100-Years of North Texas football, including the recognition of an All-Century team which includes “Mean” Joe Greene.
