  1. The family package is a damn good deal... 4 tickets to all home games and 4 hot dogs and 4 drinks at every home game for 140 bucks.  With a deal this good, the stadium should be overflowing.

I did notice that there were a lot more families there this game... But then they said "no strollers". Un-fricking believeable. Then we asked - well do you have a place for us to leave them then? Answer -"we can't be responsible for that". Great Job RV. <_<

  2. ---We agree a lot more than we disagree.  UNT may come out ahead on this deal  since UT and TAMU have put in larger tuition increases.  Their reasons  may have dual purpose... to replace lost revenue but also to discourage enrollment, Both are approximately 50,000 and don't really want to grow larger, plus UT is landlocked in expensive land, TAMU isn't.  Some students  are likely to drift to UNT and Tech because of cost but many do not want to go to Tech because of its location  in dry West Texas (I live in Midland).  California is a nightmare, tax-wise....  Some of son's friends at TI couldn't believe how much their paycheck increased when they got transfered to Texas......... No I don't want a state income tax...... just stop giving tax breaks (they have) to certain business groups... Our sales, gasoline, property, and sin (alcohol/tobacco) taxes haven't been cut.... ie. nothing you and I pay.

---I really expect UNT to explode size-wise in the next 10 years due to the engineering school, cost,  location, (Metroplex is closing in on Denton) , plus  other factors.  More recognition sports-wise would help recruit students.  That is why I hope CUSA happens, more statewide and area media interest.... Eventually we may the big university in the state, would not surprise me any.

---If the redistricting wasn't purely political..... Why wasn't  it done in 2001 like the other 49 states????  I also agree it didn't cause the budget shortfall but it represented a big chunk of amount that was cut from universities... I teach in a community college.... we are teaching 10% more students with 10% less money.  That can be done for a while but eventually it will hit the fan as "things" need repairing, updating, and replacing.

Some very good points 66 about the enviroment within Texas and the other texas schools contributing to the growth at NT. Also I live right in the middle of the metroplex growth toward Denton you were referring to (North Tarrant). I think you can see the growth everwhere you look on campus right now. I'd say at this point with all the scheduled construction and looking at the master plan that this is not just a minor expansion to the school. This is North Texas version 2.0...

  3. I emailed RV and here is his response.

    John,

The men's gym has lines going in every direction and would be a bad venue by today's standards. We are only going to play three games at the most at TWU. This is being done so that all 11 teams can participate instead of just eight. So most of the tournament will be at the Super Pit. Thanks for your concern and I look forwark to seeing you soon.

    Rick V.

Is he referring to concession stand lines? If so his is right.. biggrin.gif

  4. Those are a lot nicer words than I used when this happened to me.

Ditto. I wonder if he has muti-directional instability. If so, he might have this as a recurring injury. I do have this damn affliction and I've been able to re-set the joint myself the last few times I've dislocated doing silly things like sneezing while holding a towel bar. I'm not an orthopedic surgeon, but I play one on GMG.com. unsure.gif

Here's some information on shoulder dislocations:
