This is a question all white helmet lovers should ask themselves:
"How would I feel about an all black helmet for the Mean Green?"
Either will be odd, IMO. The Tide have Crimson helmets, the Orange(men) have orange helmets, and teh Mean Green should have GREEN HELMETS.

Give me a list of D1A Teams that have a white helmet and are bigtime programs. The white helmet looks very HIGH SCHOOL come on GREEN is a big part of our identity let PLEASE STICK WITH IT

I would love to see this happen. Playing a Big Ten school or Big 12 school, would be a lot more fun, than playing the 4th place CUSA team.
But, I don't think it has a chance until the NO Bowl guarantee is increased. Our guarantee this year, was listed at $300,000+ (when we had always thought that the minimum was $750,000).
As for the Indy Bowl, their payout is well over a million (I think a $1.5 million or so).
Anyway, I don't see this happening...until our guarantee is closer to what they've been getting in Shreveport. Not sure, what the Detroit bowl payed (guessing it was $750,000)...

And the Troy poster that says there was no excitement from OSU fans is simply making that up I was there and I witnessed plenty of excitement, so just ignore that. Plus just look at attendance #'S of Indy bowl and you should be able to figure out this poster is high on recent win or possibly he is smoking pork rinds.
One caveat though, regarding $. The sponsor of the Indy bowl has committed to a contract that is worth more than the Petrosun stock(mkt cap) is worth. So, probably after next year the high payout of the bowl is gonna need a new saviour, but still it is big 12 vs sec so lets settle down a little i mean the troys are acting like they should get an offer from the sec soon because they beat rice(they are still rice)!

Again, not defending TJ, not saying he deserves the Mean Green Hall of Fame, just pointing out behavior.
Also, TJ is the only player I ever saw taunt the opposing teams dance team, cheerleaders and president in the same night.

I wouldn't say they underperformed this year. LSU had the toughest road schedule in the nation this season. (It's hard enough to win at home in the SEC.)
He also coached a National Championship team.
All I am saying is everyone to a person (many in my area) hates jimbo fisher and and would agree he underperformed.
I am having deja vu of illcluelessvus defending DD-2003 was a few seasons back I am living in the here and now, and the recent performance is subject too MANY complaints from LSU fans.

Really, My LSU buddies react to the idea of JBF coming to UNT like:"good riddance-he runs 60% of the time even though he has great WR's etc"

Why make such a statement when you have done no research?
You Like this guy because:
a-he is a asst. coach of an SEC team (in this case you like alot of potential candidates)
b-he coaches an underperforming SEC team that had the talent to be undefeated or at least win the SEC but did niether
c- you miss DD/RF

If we could figure out a way to get the tailgaters to come into the game it would increase our attendance by 3-4K easy. The problem is they are having too much fun out there.

Be thankful we have a chance to get them in the seats, we probably have more that a few people that would not even be in the zip code of FOUTS if were not for the tailgating so, LIGHTEN UP! and quit complaining about a LONG TERM POSITIVE. Has anyone told about the 80/20 rule this applies to about everything, live with it. be happy.

Why can't we start our own booster club with the purpose of marketing the program. Each member pays dues and we meet and create our own campaign to sell season tickets to our alumni base and to get students to games, promote tailgating etc.. I think we could sell some tickets probably out sell the athletic dept. Has this been done ? if so who cares ,if done right ,aggressively it will succeed.
For tickets I am thinking alumni list and phone bank, lets call them directly and get 'em off their a#$. mailings are very low response, and the people that are passionate about the program could sell it.
We all want this program to succeed and this is one of the few things we can do to make it happen, if we are successful the admin cannot ignore us. right now that is the problem, we need to get X number season ticket holders to prove the worth of the program only the numbers will do it.

Look, there is a saying in my business "the only person you will P*&% off by asking how much thet are worth, are the ones with no money" and it is very true.
The fact is we have some fans who are A*&Holes and F*&%'rs plain and simple. YES be loud and stand up and cheer your team on, but we have quite a few loudmouth jerks who, if Dickey runs them off it would be fine with me, sometimes it is better to clean house and start over.
I support the Mean Green! I do not care who the coach is of what team or if he is my buddy.
Do not answer with you should care because, in your opinion, someone is ruining our programs that is BS. You and I have no control over who leads our teams. It is a simple problem of imaturity to think someone has the right to say who keeeps their job because they have been a fan for X # Years and have season tickets and give $1000 to MGC. GROW UP!!!!! you are a pimple on the A*& of UNT!!!
