  1. We could tire her up and throw her in Lake Lewisville... If she floats, she's a jinx.

Sir Bedevere: There are ways of telling whether she is a witch.

Peasant 1: Are there? Oh well, tell us.

Sir Bedevere: Tell me. What do you do with witches?

    Peasant 1: Burn them.

Sir Bedevere: And what do you burn, apart from witches?

    Peasant 1: More witches.

    Peasant 2: Wood.

Sir Bedevere: Good. Now, why do witches burn?

Peasant 3: ...because they're made of... wood?

Sir Bedevere: Good. So how do you tell whether she is made of wood?

Peasant 1: Build a bridge out of her.

Sir Bedevere: But can you not also build bridges out of stone?

    Peasant 1: Oh yeah.

Sir Bedevere: Does wood sink in water?

Peasant 1: No, no, it floats!... It floats! Throw her into the pond!

Sir Bedevere: No, no. What else floats in water?

    Peasant 1: Bread.

    Peasant 2: Apples.

    Peasant 3: Very small rocks.

    Peasant 1: Cider.

    Peasant 2: Gravy.

    Peasant 3: Cherries.

    Peasant 1: Mud.

    Peasant 2: Churches.

    Peasant 3: Lead! Lead!

    King Arthur: A Duck.

    Sir Bedevere: ...Exactly. So, logically...

Peasant 1: If she weighed the same as a duck... she's made of wood.

    Sir Bedevere: And therefore...

    Peasant 2: ...A witch!

  2. You would think people with such high ideals would absolutely hate it when people GENERALIZE. I will save the obvious examples pertaining to race, religion, school attended etc.

Not fair to say the actions of a few=actions of all just because you do not like the group due to rejection, jealousy, IGNORANCE or whatever)

There are many men in these organizations across the globe who have high ideals and are striving to make these organizations positive ,character building organizations. But, unfortunately there are just as many who are working against that.

    THINK

oh yeah I forgot this board has lost the ability

  3. Check my comments. I asked where the f--- the leadership was if they couldn't even get the Greeks to vote. That's in no way anti-Greek.

Flyer got about 2,000 on his facebook page, though that may have included some Greeks.

There are about 350+/- students directly involved in Athletics/Club Sports.

That leaves about 450 for Housing and Greeks combined, again, not counting crossover with the previous 2 groups.

All of this points to a very likely LOW Greek turnout.

A good indicator: how many votes did the IFC/PH candidates get for Homecoming? Add in any NPHC votes if they had a candidate. Subtract about 10-20% for students who didn't know who any of the people were and voted randomly, and that's your Greek vote.

Odd, too. With lower turnout, Greeks vote in greater numbers. There's finally a big-ass turnout, and quite a few Greeks, based on accounts from posters here, missed the boat.

I call BS on your theories show me real numbers from the SGA if they release or know em, not the ones you have dreamed up. Your opinion only

Anyway the anti-greek crowd always cracks me up-full of assumptions and ignorance

I as a greek have no problem with any non-greek. Too each is own. This IMHO make the anti crowd look very petty

  4. I agree with untlifer.

I thought about when I was a freshman in HS(Texas 5A school) and we had to go scrimmage with the varsity. That was brutal, I know this is a little different but still freshman and sophomores (mostly) playing junior/seniors has to be part of the problem. I believe we have underestimated this difference in age and experience.

In addition, after seeing the team in person for the first time this year, I am very, very impressed with the ATHLETES we have. I feel 100% confident in our coming years. Be patient.

  5. Edit: Looks like I can't spell reminisce.

I just figured being an engineer you are a numbers guy.

Now, one of the things we got excited about with DODGE is a new winning attitude.

People can try an spin it all they want, but this is not a winning attitude!

one more thing: I mean giving them the score before the half HOW IS THAT CONSERVATIVE? smells like bs to me

  6. However, your issue is still staffing - if you can corral 150+ kids onto a field together and have time to walk down the back of the line and check shirts, while making sure this all goes off a hitch because the team gets penalized because they are not off in time, you go for it. There is a reason most schools only allow access to either no kids or a small amount of rich donors kids.

You can talk all you want about acting small time and what not, but would you rather pull our limited resources into hiring more people to work that line or accomplishing the 4,000 other things to do to make us"big-time?"

Where do I say hire more people???????????????????????????????????????????????????

I said fire the incompetent ones and hire people that get the job done.

I have been a member of this board and its predecessors a long time and I do not post very often because of know it alls like you, i dont know if you are still a student or are an alum but I'm willing to bet you have not been in the real world very long if at all. Have you ever participated in the halftime event with your kids? that is waht I thought.

Why would anyone attack any fellow supporter of the school for suppporting the school i will never understand.(the sarcastic way to go comment is what i am reffering to)

  7. One person - and intern - controls that line and gts them all on the field.

If you care so much about this, call the AD and volunteer to help control the crowd the way a few parents do. Otherwise, let's just sit back and let this thread become the most popular on the board because it gives everyone an excuse to not discuss football.

Thank you for summing up the attitude that needs to change

I buy season tickets, donate to the meangreen club and meangreen jr club so I do not have to do the work of the athletic dept.!!!!!!!!!

If the interns cannot enforce a simple rule , fire them and hire someone who can.

    We must stop accepting mediocrity!

  8. My kids have been members for many years and the rules is, as I understand it, that you must wear your meangreen jr club shirt from the current year. So, if you dont have the shirt you do not participate in the halftime festivities end of story. Why have a rule or a club and not enforce the rule, either enforce the rule or let everyone down there or nobody down there, there is usually a good reason for a rule, and if there is not a good reason get rid of the rule.
