I can't believe there's a listing for this particular YUCCA... I work in the Exes office, and we have several yearbooks displayed behind my table-desk... This is one of them... I'd have to say it's one of my favorites... If you look closely, the eagle is not only wearing a football helmet... but it has a CIGAR in it's beak... (look directly below his eye, their picture is a little fuzzy)... Now, remember... this is all Pre-Photoshop days, which makes that one really awesome eagle!

congrats on your new (broken) cell phone, TDP!
-

It was only harsh because it is true. I never said guys were different, just trying to point out to Sean not to take it personally, that's just what she had to say.
I thought Erin's post was a little harsh, you may need to remind her we are all friends too. <_<
Sean is intelligent enough to know that she wasn't directly aiming her statement at him...
I was referring to your entire generalization about women. I thought it was a little rude.
-
Sean, she had to say that. Was she gonna say "We had fun, but deep down I was wishing I had a boyfriend to be with"? No way.
Girl power. Let them watch Sex in the City and become more empowered and convince themselves they don't need a guy. Maybe pop in a little Alanis if they feel aggressive. Then when the next cute guy gives them attention, they won't be able to see straight for days.
wow, aaron... that was a little harsh... why not try and be a little nicer... we're all friends here. <_<

can we kill this topic yet???? The whole Cheerleader bashing is getting boring.... Lets talk about how we can support our basketball team...and let other org. or groups take care of themselves
I agree!
-

-
It's too bad that the tournament isn't during spring break.
I may try and go, anyways... My cousins live in Louisville and say that it's less than an hours drive to B.G...
-
To heck with watching it on TV... I wanna *GO* to Bowling Green!!!
-
Yes, even her mercurial highness, TDP Jr.
Hooray! Your kids are great!
-
Wecome to the board, TX Green!
Can I assume that you are a cheerleader as well?
-
I'll still come, even if it's cold and rainy!
-
We will all be there.
Even TDP Jr.?!?
See everyone there! (Like Justin said, we're like the postal service... Come Rain, or Snow...)
-

Yucca is some sort of desert plant... Not sure why it was chosen...
The Aerie's History Webpage says this:
Although the North Texas Normal College opened in 1890, the first yearbook was not published until 1905 and was called The Cottontail.
The next year the yearbook name was changed to The Yucca through a school wide vote. Yucca is for a cactus that is indigenous to Texas.
The tradition of The Yucca lasted until 1974.
The University had a small "Senior’s Yearbook" called Wings that was published in 1977, 1979, and 1980.
The current name, Aerie, was chosen in 1982. We celebrate our 21st anniversary in 2003.
