  1. I couldn't help but notice this comment from a reader...

Maybe if our football team started winning some games, more students might show up. We've got a few talented players, but the outcome of most games is the same. To me, UNT football is basically an embarrasment.

  2. It's that time again...tickets are $50 each...

  3. The deck is not so bad. Like Zeke said, it is good for a quick meal before the game if you aren't into the tailgating scene outside the stadium. It is also the only place to grab a beer while watching the game, albeit at a bad angle.

The Mean Green Hospitality room is a much better deal (basketball only). You get two passes for each men's game at the $500 donation level.

    GO MEAN GREEN

  4. I'm not sure what constitues "pushed all over the field" exactly, but our defense actually held USM to fewer yards (403 vs 445), first downs (17 vs 25) and a lower third down conversion percentage (31% vs 50%) than did the Indians. Also, we held the ball for a full seven minutes longer than ASU (32:28 vs 25:36).

Not to take anything away from the Indians. They played extremely well and their offensive performance was hands down better than our effort last year. It seems to me that the biggest difference in the two games is that USM got up early on us and took our offense out of it's gameplan. We were never able to establish the rush and, well, the rest is history.

  5. Yep, we're on it. Leaving with Pierow's caravan Monday morning. So far my car has myself, Emmitt, Marshall, and I possibly Steve (Zeke, need to check on his class schedule) Otherwise, we will have an extra spot.

Checking on rooms at the Comfort near campus...

    More to follow.....

    GMG!!!

Hey Med, did you get rooms at the Comfort Inn? Also, what are you guys doing about game tickets?

  6. Are you kidding me?

That win would do more for our program than anything else we can do this year - even a 6-5 league record where they reject us for a bowl game on tie breakers that we would lose anyway.

A fluke win does nothing for our program. The story won't be how we beat LSU, it will be how LSU somehow found a way to lose to us.

I'll take a shot at a conference championship over a guaranteed OOC victory anyday. And no, I'm not kidding you.

  7. I saw in yesterday's WSJ "Journal Report" section that the winners of the WSJ 2005 Student Achievement Award were listed (page R10). One student from each school is selected and the winner from North Texas is Nicholas Daniel Bazaldua.

In total there are about 500 Universities listed, each with one winner, so this is quite a prestigious award.

I also couldn't help but notice that several schools were not on the list, including Texas, Texas A&M, SMU, U of H, Rice, UTEP and Baylor.

    Congrats to Nick.

  8. I was on the Office of Development website the other day and I found some information about how we can use our Tom Thumb reward cards to donate money to the University.

Basically, you link NT's "Good Neighbor" number to your reward card and Tom Thumb donates 1% of your total purchase amount to North Texas. Information about the program can be found here:
