Good stuff. I know I'm now excited and I know you are too.
However hickoryhouse, I will remind you how excited we were about last year's team. And then it was all down hill from week 2 on.

Good things ahead for the Mean Green!

I think people are forgetting that PC only had one really good year. Then injuries and Jamario came to town.
I would give PC the best single year performance of the decade. But a "player of the decade" needs to have a few good years put together, in my opinion.
For that reason, I give the player of the decade award to Booger Kennedy.

I think you're right except BSU gets left out for Iowa.
If the BCS has proven anything, it's that nothing is impossible. So I don't really disagree with you. I know they like teams from the big 6 conferences.
But I gave the edge to an undefeated #6 Boise State because they are ranked 4 spots higher than #10 Iowa. I just can't imagine an undefeated #6 team in the country being left out of the BCS picture. There would be a huge backlash for that one.

If Nebraska and Pitt would have won, it might have gotten TCU in the title game. Maybe. It might also have left Boise going to a minor bowl again. Texas and Cinncinatti would have still gone to a BCS bowl, so Boise might have gotten shafted completely.
Actually, Texas would likely have gotten an at large bid, but I don't think Cincy would have been invited to a BCS game. Here are my projections based on your scenario.
Title Game: TCU vs Bama
Rose Bowl: Oregon vs Ohio State
Sugar: Florida vs Pitt
Fiesta: Boise vs Nebraska
Orange Bowl: Ga Tech vs Texas
In my scenario, #10 Iowa as the second Big Ten team gets left out. Everyone's previous predictions neglected the fact that Nebraska becomes the Big XII auto qualifier. And the Fiesta Bowl and the Big XII are in bed together so Nebraska goes there. And Texas would stay ranked high enough to deserve an at large bid.

No changes at all? Maybe then we shouldn't have been calling for Dodge's head, but for RV's head instead...

Everything about this is comical and depressing. High school boosters discussing buying out a coaches contract? What the hell is going on in our society?
I'd be willing to bet that SLC Boosters have and do on average donate more money than UNT Boosters

I thought June would be gone, by the time UNT started the series with SMU,
Why would you think this? He's a hell of a recruiter and did great things for Hawaii. And for the reason's already in that article, he's begun to do great things for SMU

Is that an official Jostens ring? Also - it is different than the one in your avatar.... I guess that you have two?
Thanks for the help everyone. I think that I will go with the XL. Now that we have an "official" ring, they do not let you deviate too much from it. Rick - how did you get the Interlocked NT on yours? Was yours made before the official ring rolled out? And I like how you guys did not do the antique thing - I am going to stay away from that, too. 91, is there a way to make your white gold picture any bigger? I am terrible with the whole resizing thing...
Their rings a older so you won't be able to get what they have. Mine in 05 looks just like the 2008 one that flyer just posted. I also got the 10K white gold. I don't like yellow gold

contracts have probably already been signed off for previous amount and seating. but you can sure add 5000 or 10,000 more seats for 2012 or 2013 as needed. it only takes finding the money to build it.
It won't be too hard to find the money if we can sell 28K seats a few times. And I'm not just talking about getting the money from ticket/concession sales. But getting the money from the state also

What other response would you expect on a message board? None at all? That's not the idea of a message board. People will reply. That's what it's for. If you don't want a response, then don't post

Yeah, alot of us were chanting for a field goal at the end of the game. Not to rub it in the WKU faces, but we deserved to see history after the past 5 seasons.
I think with Riley and Dunbar, we'll break it at some point in the next couple years

Very Nice!

Good find!
What do you think the chances are of that date changing? I am planning to take the family up for the game, and for my kids first NYC trip, and want to plan it out as far in advance as possible.
GMG
Not very likely. Usually game times change. not dates

With 8:14 left in the game and with a 3 point lead, it was 4th & 3 at the FAU 29.
What is the logic in trying to go for it?
Possible outcomes:
Go for it and make it... Great! 4 more downs.
Go for it and don't make it... Give them the ball on their 29.
Go for the FG... Great if you make it, give them the ball on their ~36 if it is missed
Or pooch kick... hopefully pin them inside their 5-10 or worst case, touchback and they come out to the 20.
My experience in football fandom says to go for 3 points or in this case, protect your lead and pooch the ball if you don't trust your kicker enough to give you 3 more points
Dodge chose to go for it and they missed it. I don't quite see as much upside in earning 4 more downs as opposed to putting them on their 29.
I understand it's easy to analyze and criticize after a loss. There's the "He would be called smart if they made it" argument, but I don't buy that here. Where's the football logic? Please help me understand why anyone could call this a good decision b/c I want to believe that Dodge has more football smarts than me.

That's awesome, I am sure my wife won't be as excited as I am, lol!!!
LOL! Just go to the game. This is Homecoming weekend

You know that may just work.
I think we may just be on to something here!

Qouner,
While I agree the offense leaves a lot to be desired. And, I also get a semi thinking about how good this defense can be. I dont think your comparison holds water. The typical North Texas production curve should move higher as the season progresses and we get further away from the body bag games. To be 20 ypg and 2.4 ppg improved over last years totals with only five games in the till including the Alabama stomping should be considered a nice improvement.
How do his stats compare for the first 5 games from last year to this year? That would tell even more.
Last year we averaged through 5 games 343.8 ypg; 233.8 passing and 109.8 rushing. We scored 13 ppg. This includes a games with 420 yds passing against Tulsa. Really brought the average up.
And to restate this year: we average 383 ypg; 210 passing and 173 rushing. We score 22.4 ppg.
Going by these stats, this year is much more improved than last
