  1. That's pretty close to what we (my drunk friends and I) worked out. 16 teams, the top few bowls are still the traditional bowls, and all the others are still there and are as meaningless as they are now.

BTW Buckeye, that's a great pic.

thanks, I had wanted to do something with that picture for a while, it's a good one. I finally got photoshop, so I'm able to crank out these things a bit easier now.

  2. All the poorer aspects of their team aside, their unwillingness to put in Cobbs (yes, he is/was 3rd string) just to see what he can do when they were 0-10 tells me something about their attitude towards trying to win games. Were they really going to put all their eggs in one basket with getting Ricky Williams back? Especially with Chatman being injured previously?

  3. I'd love a playoff system just like this. I do, however, still like the bowl game tradition. I love watching the Rose Bowl on New Years' Day, have done it for years. What I'd like to see is a Big Dance as described in the article with the bowls being invitational as they (technically) are now...but still maintain the prestige of the big games (Rose/Sugar/Orange/Fiesta bowl games) by bringing in the better teams, which would also undoubtedly be playing in the tournament.

  4. Now maybe Don Giovanni will get the respect he deserves............

I may ask the Godfather to say a good word for my 9 month old daughter at the next home game. I urge all of you with young children to do the same.

Can we please get the band to learn the Godfather theme song for when The Don comes out onto the field?

Or how about the "Commandatore" music from Mozart's "Don Giovanni"?

The singer's melody would work great for a quick little song between big plays or something, haha: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3nqiKzB5fs

  5. It was a pretty amazing atmosphere. I spoke to a UNT officer that mentioned he hadn't see that many people and excitement in years.

I thought the turnout was amazing and I felt like the noise level on the West side was louder this week. Don't see any reason why we wouldn't have 20,000 at the last home game.

It's during Thanksgiving break and we play Western Kentucky...might affect the number of students that show up. Then again, maybe not, maybe we'll have a good turnout. Eh, I'm not a doctor.
