The P5 is history yes. Its really a P2 with the Big 12 and ACC a step below. Ultimately there will be a separation by the members of these conferences from the G5. It is inevitable. Rest of the conferences (including the AAC) will be siphoned off and will comprise the new Division 2.
Man , one post,, two posts and on and on and on. Richard Crainium keeps coming back.

And higher than anything at Da-TCU by an even larger margin, despite enough undergrads to fill the stadium with them alone. I'm not sure this is where you should be talking trash.
Maybe we should go on your board and talk trash.

........this is still a substantial upgrade over AAC in every possible metric. How would that be a bad thing?
"SMU quit their job with us pushing carts at Target to go be a CEO, but then they found out the job is just being a VP. Dur idiots! They should have just kept pushing carts with us!"

No. The great difference is these are student-athletes, enrolled in college, that should be trying to get an education and degree, not a paycheck!
You are right, they should be. What they are doing is getting an education in sport, so they can try to make it to the big time.

I believe full rides are based on cost of attendance. At UNT THIS AMOUNTS TO $27,937 for an in-state student. If we abide by the NCAA restriction of 20/week, a fifty week year would add up to a 1000 hours per year. Using these numbers, we come up with an hourly wage of $27.94. An hourly wage this size exceeds the hourly wage of 75% of hourly workers. In addition to these tangible benefits there are many intangibles associated with acquiring a college education.
I would guess that it is closer to 50 hours a week at a lot of institutions.

The days when NFL players used to work second jobs to make ends meet are over and I think the days of not paying players is coming to an end. The evolution of NCAA football will be come similar to that of the NFL

It is going to come down to schools who pay the players and the ones that don't one day. It is an arms race that not all teams can not compete in. When this finally happens I think you will see geographic conferences. The rich will continue to pick up players from the non pay conferences.
College football is dead and is replaced with semi pro teams. Sad I dont watch the NFL and I find myself watching less college football games these days. I will continue to support the Mean Green.
I thought you were going to say it comes down to who pays for hookers and who kills them. lol

I'm not sure I would say that running back is the easiest position to replace as much as I would say that I absolutely believe in the ability of Coach Cobbs to build up and prepare our running backs room no matter who he has to work with.
Well said.
