  1. I think it's a great idea. My wife and I are always trying to think of ways to smuggle them into the stadium (usually we use the diaper bag). It would be so much more fun to make a tradition of buying the green ones before kick off. My 3 yr old daughter loves getting to throw them......that keeps her entertained half the night which allows me to watch more of the game.

  2. My suggestion is get there earlier. jk

My family and I got there around 3:30, sat in the same line, and then had to end up parking behind Clark. Really wan't that bad of a walk, but we had a bunch of stuff that we didn't take because it would have been to much hassle. We've decided that next time we'll try getting there 3 or 4 hours early (after the Tulsa game - parking may not be a problem). I think it's a great problem to have, though it did keep me from drinking for an extra 30 minutes.

  3. When my daughter was born 3 Septembers ago, we were faced with the same decision around Homecoming since she was only about 2 or 3 months old. We ended up bringing her. Really it doesn't change a whole lot, it's just like carrying a football around all day that you can't throw (according to my wife).

You'll be fine, and we can always use the attendance. I make sure the ticket takers count both of my baby girls.

  4. "It will be interesting to see how our D line stacks up against less talented O lines. The key will be getting a lead to force them to pass. Our pass rush is much improved this year with Evans, but unfortunately we haven't been able to force teams to pass. I'm sure UNT will get there yards, but I don't see them running over us. Its taken exceptional backs making exceptional plays to get yards on us. I don't think these guys are ever close to the first 2 guys we've faced.

Getting the lead is the key though"

I guess it's time to head over and introduce ourselves to the Tulsa board.

  5. My thoughts - The first half was TOUGH! I was not very enthusiastic as to the rest of the season to say the very least. Having had a whole 20 minutes to think about the outcome though here I go.

Every aspect of our game got BETTER as the game went on. - Let's not forget there are a bunch of new guys here. They need time to gel. Not having our first game hurt us tremendously coming into this one.

The defense seeemed to get it together as a group towards the end. Individual play was HUGE with the 5 turnovers.

I think the game went as everyone thought it would as for our offense. Everyone knew we'd need to run the ball so they stacked the line. Meager (which never got rotated with Phillips by the way) performed well for a freshman. He seemed to struggle on the long balls a little - underthrowing on most of them. great catch by "The Mighty" Quinn. (Who knew he was "violently ill" all week???) I liked that they threw the ball to Cobbs - that play seemed to work well.

Wish I had seen more J-MO but that's why they pay the coaches. Cobbs had a good night considering all of the above. Stacked line and inexperienced QB make running hard.

Having replaced our safeties I thought they did an outstanding job!

I'm not too concerned with Tulsa. They had a decent showing against OU, but so did TCU. OU may be on a down year, let's not completely over rate them. We now have our first week to observe and make adjustments. I think we'll DEFINITLY be better next week and I'd expect more passing.

All in all it was ugly, but it was a win which is all that matters. Great way to start the season. So much was riding on this one, and the guys did a good job rising up to the challenge. Their confidence level just went up a notch which is good for a young group. I kind of look at it as our first half was like our first game - adjustments were made and we came out and made some plays in the second half.

On another note. I wish a speedy recovery on the wide receiver (C. Henry) who broke his leg. That's the one part of football that always brings you down is knowing that a talented receiver won't be playing again for a while if at all.

    WAY TO GO MEAN GREEN!

Beat the crap out of TULSA! ! !
