Utah State? He was just referring to studying tape on Fine to limit him. Fine hardly played vs USU so there's not really tape to study there.

Another anti-UNT "fan" here I see. Just like we'll go 1-3 in OOC, huh? Based off of nothing other than pessimism.

Pay no attention to this clown. He thinks we are going to lose to UTSA

Seeing as they just lost their version of Mason Fine in C-USA "MVP" Brent Stockstill, and historically, Rick Stockstill's MT teams are the epitome of a roller coaster (seems like he'll have 3-4 8+ win seasons followed by 3-4 5- win seasons...), the downturn may be dramatic.

That's what I thought too, but I admittedly haven't been following them this off-season so I didn't want to say for sure. Naturally losing a 7 year, 30-year old (joke) QB would hurt any program.

Absolute wankers. How can anyone take pride in bandwagoning the success of a program you have absolutely no affiliation to? Feel like I would be embarrassed if someone asked me why I support a certain school and had absolutely no affiliation or reason for that.

I was going to post a similar snarky comment if no one else did.  Online degrees are racket.  The poster may as well have gotten a University of Phoenix degree, especially if it was cheaper than OSU distance courses.  And if that's a online MBA, the twitter person seems to not understand what so much of the MBA experience is about... which is unique classroom experiences with your cohort.

I received my Masters the old fashioned way, by going to classes for two years at a now P5 school (Go Utes)... I still enjoy supporting the Utah football team, and even will switch to a Utes shirt on Saturday evening after UNT football if there's #Pac12AfterDark game.  But my first love will always be North Texas football.

And since I brought up Pac12... Fire Larry Scott!

Good on you, I got my Masters in England where schools don't give 2 damns about college sports. As a result, North Texas is and will always be number one. I could jump on the bandwagon and say that "My Grad School doesn't have sports so I can support whatever Grad School I want" but I don't.

I never understood why UNT alumni’s root for other teams they have no affiliation with until a couple of years in my college career. It’s all about socializing and following a trend. A friend I work with is a UNT alumni and likes his school and the sport teams, but he is a die hard Arkansas fan because growing up his dad liked Arkansas. I mean he buys more of their merchandise and even has a Arkansas license plate cover. You think after that ass whooping we gave them last year he would leave the dark side and join the good guys again...nope not at all.

There was a article I read a couple of years ago that 90% of UT fans didn’t even go to UT.....nothing but a bunch of weak bandwagon fans.

I can see the social aspect of it. Living in Kansas, everyone is KU, K-State, or Missouruh. GF (future fiance) went to KU so it does help when socializing to say I follow KU and have something to talk about. It's the same problem here, everyone jumps on the KU basketball bandwagon around basketball season when 90% of people didn't even go there.

    Commits to Iowa State

I don't blame him. Their fans are fanatic. You can see Iowa State stuff all over this area. I went to both the KU-Iowa State football game and the Big 12 Championship basketball game and they flooded both with the majority of the attendance. Want to know how you can tell if someone went to Iowa State? They'll tell you.

I love having Torrey on our team and he can flash.    But, I certainly hope we can work out those short yardage situations this season.   We were terrible on 3rd and 1 last year and it cost us some games.

Part of that was on Harrell. If you don't mix it up, the defense knows exactly what is coming to them. I think we'll see a big shake up with Reeder's offense

I lived mostly on Fry Street to the dismay of my poor parents.

I only lived in Denton one year. Lived with some buddies closer to Dallas and commuted for the last 3 (one of many horrible ideas, circa my early twenties).  I had a few lost loves that I stayed with frequently at Woodhill and another misc apartment building by TWU.  The apartments are still there... The women are long gone. 😂

Good to see someone else enjoyed their college experience as much as I did 👍

Yep.  And CUSA is actually a very good men's soccer conference.  Kentucky (yes, that Kentucky...the SEC does not sponsor men's soccer) finished ranked #3 nationally.  Charlotte finished the year ranked #14, and ODU finished in the receiving votes category.

Definitely. It would be a baptism by fire with this conference in Men's soccer since even the Florida schools are very good also, but we have the resources and talent in the area to build something very quickly. Go after some local high school players or some fringe FC Dallas academy players and build from there

If we are going to add a sport it should be men’s soccer. I’ve expressed this opinion a few times, always to a collective eye roll, but the program would be nationally relevant almost immediately.

North Texas is a hotbed for developing soccer talent. Just look at how many players from the Gold Cup roster are from here or went through the FC Dallas academy. I fully agree with you that a Men's soccer program would be relevant almost immediately if we can draw in the talent. We hate them but SMU is usually one of the top Men's Soccer programs in the country. Men's soccer would be much more beneficial for us IMO.

You have to give La Tech all the credit in the world. Year after year, coach after coach they have solid teams and recruiting. Sort of knocks out the "Location" factor.

This. I know a couple of people that went there and despite Ruston being a S*it hole, people still end up there.

Ruston is remote, but it is a nice place to live. It's not like the kids are being asked to move to some gawdaweful place like New Mexico. Could you imagine the challenge of trying to recruit to Las Cruces or Albuquerque?

I would take those 2 over Ruston any day of the week.
