A couple trumpets, a guitar and some marachas can't' be that much.
Why would they be using that?

You think Cal is scoring 42 against us? I mean we gave up 49 to a good SMU offense, but Cal’s offense is nowhere near SMU
Ok maybe not 6 TDs, maybe just 5 TDs and 2 FGs.

Re: Cemeteries
Check with the Denton County Historical Commission, or the specific city where the cemetery is located.

What you learned:
- SMU is Dallas' team and you will never have a large presence here.
- Your defense is atrocious.
- When we have coaching stability, we will win this game.
- Mason Fine is great, but still human.
Who's excited for next year without Mason Fine as your QB?!
Dallas' team? HAHAHA ok. No one believes that, you know.
Just as an FYI, since North Texas' return to Div 1 FBS, we have won more games than SMU.
Not saying UNT is objectively better, just saying that SMU is just another run of the mill school, except with rich folk.
SMU pays way more per each loss, and there are many of them.

So, mediocre in CUSA is a good stopping place for you?
Mediocre is a good starting point after going 1-11 with a depleted roster (arguably one of the worst rosters in FBS).
I'm not saying I'm happy receiving L's. Far from it. I'm just happy that we're mad about it, and it's not just another day in North Texas football.

I really miss the certainty of a 3-win season. Are we a 7-win team, a 9-win team? Sucks, man.

One game is forgivable. 2 games is questionable. 3..4...5... 7?
3 bowl games, mostly blowouts. 2 blowouts to FAU and the unimpressive Lane Train. Multiple 2nd half flops. And an absolute embarrassment against a local in town rival? Do we need to continue? Cause there's more.
Do we NEED another Portland state to finally say enough? Or do we make the seat hot now before it happens? SL needs to finally step up and show he's that generational talent we all hope for. So far, he's "middle ground" ok.
I think I'm gonna do this bit today.
- consecutive 9 win seasons
- 3 bowl appearances
- conference championship appearance
- west division champ
All right after taking over for the worst team in FBS, the season after they suffered the worst loss to an FCS in college football history.
This is year 4. I am happy we finally get to have expectations.

I do get your point but Arkansas State has a good program and they have gone to like 8 straight bowls. That was an impressive win for SMU on the road.
38 minutes ago, untjim1995 said:It really was a good win. Sonny Dykes is a good coach and Shane Buechele is a very good QB for this G5 level of play. Anyone thinking we are going to blow out SMU because we did last year is just asking to be disappointed.
No slight to ArkSt but it's still a Sun Belt roster.
SMU has quality players that hasn't quite put it together. Next season they'll be tough to beat.
As to Jim's comment, I'm not suggesting we'll blow them out of the water, but a counter to SMU blowing us out of the water. I think we can meet in the middle.
Two spread offenses with questionable defenses will make for a VERY entertaining, albeit frustrating, game

Do y'all not remember that SMU also played a game last weekend, and barely came out with a win?
They put up stats on offense but they couldn't keep Arkansas State out of striking range the whole game.
2 or 3 bad turnovers by the ArkSt offense, plus a poorly defended return for a TD let SMU win.

Probably not since of the 23 on scholarship, 15 will be back for the 2020 season, and 5 or 6 return for 2021. They aren’t all one year stop gaps.
So SMU loses 16 or 17 players after two seasons?
Those 5 or 6 better be really good for year 3, and that the freshmen or sophs in 2021 can step in and produce.
