Agreeing to disagree is a step in the right direction, but disagreeing on disagreeing is a tough road.

Had you pegged for Texas State or maybe Happy Valley. What made you rule it out, though?
That is crazy, my dad graduated from Penn State!

After prayerful consideration and consultation with the appropriate legal and financial resources, I've decided to announce I am not open for consideration with regard to this position. I want to thank all parties involved and remain hopeful that an appropriate fit for all parties is realized. Again, thank you all.

I read Sagarin had a rating of 146. How is that right? Is that a typo? Aren't there 128 teams? What does this mean and who is Sagarin?

If the job was posted today then it surely has been in the works for at least a couple/few weeks.
I REALLY wish this would have happened last year. You can say new coach, cleaning house, don't worry. Now, it's a year in and a coach/recruiter leaves weeks before NSD? Right after the scholarship issue with the TE recruit?

Frankly I'm hoping for an upgrade. Special teams play was pedestrian this year.
Good luck to Coach Perry wherever he lands.
Really? The punting, on side kick and kick offs were great in San Antonio.

Man, it seems uphill both ways. What do you think happens next? Maybe a high school coach to bring in recruiting?

Well d@#$. I agree, the special teams were outstanding. The timing is awful. Where is the panic thred, the recruiting was slow and now to lose him....?

Had to be for a better gig. Knew it wouldn't be long before someone snatched him up.
Was that his thing, recruiting? Who is left weeks before NSD?

These bigger schools like those have no trouble recruiting in DFW and already play here with TCU. You would most likely have to go out the region. For a department that is tight on money, playing locally is a better draw and gets us in front of more players as well!
Does music and art really have that much of a stranglehold on the $? Surely Wren can do something?

That's going to be one busy guy...did you see his schedule? B12 schools, AAC, whew...

He does have time, but what if he has already hit his physical ceiling?
If he has hit his physical ceiling then this was a terrible signing. I can't believe 4 years of coaching, experience, strength and conditioning training wouldn't make a huge difference. Fines biggest problem was not having the opportunity to develop because he was busy running. The depressing thing is reading on here he has "moxy". That's code for getting drilled all game and still being able to get up. Littrell better get the OL fixed fast because no offense works when your QB is in gtho mode.

Recruiting rankings ARE coaching evaluations.
Awesome statement! You are exactly on point! You powerfully yet succinctly boiled this topic down to 5 words that are clear and absolute.

I think you have to look inside the star ratings. I doubt there is a significant difference between most low 3's and high 2's. Probably a significant difference between a high 2 and a high 3. As in any kind of measurement, you have to expect some degree of error of measurement.
Is there a way to determine what a high 2 is vs a low 2 or high or low 3? I've not seen that on Rivals, 247 or Scout. That is an interesting proposition I'd like to investigate.

Nerds that play video games will tell you that their girlfriends are the best because "they fit my personality and have my interests".
What they're really saying is "the hot girls won't give me the time of day...so I'm gonna play up the virtues of this 5 on my arm".
Lol! Strong work!

I don't know how much data you need when you are ranked 10th of 14, which puts UNT in bottom third of conference. How is that a huge leap? Just asking......
I always hold out hope, but, NSD is now a matter of weeks before February 1st. I don't know how likely it is to have a last minuet break in your favor and you get an avalanche of 3 stars (I mean really good fits for your system you can coach up), but I would say odds are against that happening.

Can't be a real offer. What is to stop those parents from claiming an offer from UNT? Our coaches can't comment on recruits thus no one can deny it. This happens all the time from people trying to boost their own stock.
Or maybe this kid's family is friends with one of our coaches and they are helping the kid build some buzz.
I guarantee you that Seth Littrell has NO PLANS to still be the HC at North Texas in 2022. He is hoping to move up the ladder and I hope he does.
Why? I think some of the SEC schools offer this early.
