  1. Good advice, El Paso Eagle.      My second most recent speeding ticket was near there between Van Horn and Midland.    The officer led me into town on a Sunday directly to the courthouse.  The judge was there and asked me how much cash I had.  When I checked and only had $33.80, he said, "That's the amount of your fine."          sad.gif

    *Note to Self*

Always lie when someone in authority asks how much money you have.

  2. I read somewhere that BRMC's drummer lived in the US illegally and was banned from returning to play shows for a while...until U2's Bono wrote the U.S. government and got it all cleared up.

wow. I've never heard that before. I knew he was having some problem with his passport or visa and that kept him from entering the US. The band is based in San Francisco, so I don't even know if he's foriegn.

  3. Shane,

about 5-10 minutes north of Broken Bow, Oklahoma is Broken Bow Lake.  and from the spill way on is Lower Mountain Fork River.  Beaver's Bend state park is prolly your best place for trout (and where I go all the time)  However, the next time I go I will try out the fly. It is on the foothills of the Ozarks...

That state park, in my opinion, is one of the better ones in the texas/oklahoma region...

Check it out Shane, you might like it... especially if you know how to fly fish.

    Travis

    heyyyyy

you got to it before i did. I however don't fly fish. I generally just use salmon eggs. Beaver's Bend is the only place in oklahoma worth visiting.

  4. i visited this today on my way up from camping in the hill country. If you're ever in Waco (and really I don't know why you'd want to be), you should stop by. Its just off the highway next to the Baylor campus. You won't be too happy with the amount of NT stuff they have on display (IE very little) but overall its a fine place. A good bit on Fry, hardly any on Joe Greene though. The coolest part was the wall that had all the fight songs you could listen to. Ours sounded decent, and just for curiousity i tried SMU's. The weird thing was that they didn't have a band, just the sound of cash registers going off.... huh.gif

  5. Congrats man.

Now you don't have to hear, "when are you getting married?!?!?!"

Now you will hear, "when in the date?"

Then you will hear, "when are you having kids?"

Does it ever end? I am starting to think not...

Go on with your bad ducky self!

when i asked for her dad's blessing he was surprised we were that serious, for the simple reason she had never hinted to her parents we were. If she did, then at least 3 times a week she would hear that from her mom.

Yeah I'm hearing the date junk already.

She's already got a three year old.

    thanx

  6. Tell us how you proposed.  Was it well thought out?

    it was kinda weak actually...

i thought out about 10 different possibilities that were semi-creative.

we live next door to each other so when she was in bed i went over to slip it on her finger when she was sleeping (i knew what her answer would be, so i wasn't trying to trick her or anything). Well, her friend had called and woke her up and she had just got off the phone with her.

So i flipped on her light and she walked to her doorway and i was like "ah screw it" and then just proposed right there in her bedroom.

  7. so i work with woodmaster building co, we build storage buldings for home depot and whatnot. Well anyways, i talk with the people at Home Depot Central a lot and one of the ladies there has a son currently in Richland College. So we got to chattin about school and she said she was "really impressed" with the things i told her about UNT, and what she had heard about it. She told me how her niece graduated from here and became quick to get a job being from NT.

    so....cool.... smile.gif

  8. lovely. I was at the horse races and they showed it on the jumbotron. My stepdad the UT Tyler grad was actually inside making a wager during the short time they had it on the screen. I didn't think to tell him, so when we got home he sat on the couch saying "I wonder how the Horns did?". My reply was casually "oh they lost" followed by a shocked look on his face. smile.gif

its funny because my whole life i was taught to hate A$M, but ironically i hate TU more.

  9. the lobbyist couldn't do much because being in Austin they got surrounded by the hippie, pot smoking, no bath taking, phish listening, stoners that go to UT. It was an awful site. They had to hitch a ride back to Denton with the House Democrats.

    sorry, work is killer today....
