  1. So what you're saying is that there's no way that the enormous dropoff we've seen in Tony's productivity between last year and this year is coaching. If find that amazing.

  3. But that was the only shot. That was the only open look. And why would we think that Benford drew something up to get a look inside? He hasn't done it in eight games. That last play is inexcusable. You have three seconds... not one, three. And you go with taking our biggest playmaker off the floor to throw the inbounds and make him toss a baseball pass. I mean, I guess it makes sense, no basketball team has ever been able to get the ball up the floor in three seconds and make a shot. About four or five times last night ULALA inbounded the ball with less than five seconds on the shot clock and scored baskets. I don't think we did it once. And I'm not buying that the players are too stubborn or too dumb to run the offense. JJs offense was pretty much new to all of them last year and they were fine.
  4. Agreed. I'm not mad at JJ: his dream job opened up. That was unlucky for us. But how do we go and replace it with this? How do we hire someone that cannot at least _get by_ with the same players from last year + CJ + Jordan. It's crazy that people are ok with this.
  5. I love this. Basically the claim here is that CJ--who had a great game--is responsible for lack of production from Tony. I don't know if you've watched all the other games this season, but Chris Jones is the most willing guy on the team to sacrifice points for assists. If those plays had been there, he'd have made them. UNT was running high picks, but it was basically just a weave outside the point line. This is all on Benford. If this is the offense--which it appears that it is--then this will be a long painful season and probably the last that I buy season tickets to. This is the most talented team we've had in forever and we're 3 and 5. Would we be 3 and 5 if JJ were still coach... just think about it.
  6. I totally agree. If he can't run a simple pick and roll to get TM the ball, then he needs to go. It's just outrageous that with the same basic personnel as last year + Chris Jones + Jordan Williams + Justin Patton we have lost to a Div II team, UTA, and ULALA. I'm just sick over the money I spent on these tickets this year. Got ripped off with only five football home games and now I'm getting crappy basketball which is my favorite event at UNT. I'm just sick over it.
  7. I was there tonight; first row, as always. I'm a three year season ticket holder and four years during school before that. Tonight was atrocious. Benford is completely inept. We were bad on offense, really bad... really, really bad. How can you not run one play, not one single play, for the best player on the floor; wait, on the team; wait, in the conference! Ridiculous. Then, how can you allow Jordan Williams to continue to let players glide past him to the basket causing Tony to get in foul trouble trying to defend the rim. On that note, how does Coleman play around two minutes when he could take over some of that rim defending and suck up some of those fouls. We also allowed nine threes. Oh, and we got whipped on the boards most of the night. At one point the margin was nine. It's just ridiculous. I'm a season ticket holder for Football and Basketball. I'm not rich. Honestly, I don't have much expendable income at all. Yet, I've chosen to spend my money on my alma mater in the hopes that they would use my small portion wisely. What do they do with that? Hire Todd Dodge, Dan McCarney and Tony Benford. RV must be held accountable.
  8. In the article he says he's not really thinking about the NBA right now and his mom says that she is not pro-NBA right now. It sounds like they are planning on being here another year.
