  1. I appreciate your thoughtful response. I will not comment further regarding my son, who gives his heart and soul into the UNT football program, and continues to do the work when no one is looking to propel his team and himself forward.
  2. This is Carlos Dad. To all of you slick talking behind your alias's. Know your facts before you comment. To CAW CAW He always give 110%!!! To MEANGEEN15 You better hope you have more players come to UNT that are willing to GIVE YOU there ALL as MY SON has for UNT!!! UNTBOWLER MY Son has never QUIT in ANY GAME which was obvious the LAST GAME!!! The difference between me and the above persons listed in my comment. I don't have to hide behind user names and the internet. We all know how tough the internet has made people these days.
  3. You hit the nail on the head. It's been clear since last year that DW was the future at the QB position for UNT. We have longed for a dual threat QB. They knew he was the most talented at the position and as a Coach they should have pushed harder to groom DW last year into taking the reins for this season. There's no excuse for how they looked over this kid and did not invest more effort into preparing this kid for this year. The coaches wanted us to be patient with Greer who was obviously not ready for Division 1 speed of football but because you felt he looked the part but not the on field talent was poor decision that as you said backfired. Now that was time and losses wasted on who you CLEARLY knew was the best on the field. You have to Coach each kind differently. QB position is one of those position that is worth going above and beyond to secure a good relationship. DW is not DT he clearly has some immaturity but you have to surround him and nurture your best talent at QB. It can make or break your Team as we have seen. I wasnt expecting Mac to come out and say they made a bad choice. of course he wouldn't but what I did expect is before it even got to this point the coaches evaultion should have been more precise and calculated and less about trying prove a point at the risk of the season.
  4. What more can the WR's do? Mac states "they need to do more." What can they do when there was a poor decision made in the beginning on the QB choice. I've seen multiple occasions where WR's are open and the QB only states down one and then with that he could not get the ball to them. Bottom line is they took a chance on this transfer because of there issues with DW. They knew where the best talent was they just took a chance and it failed and cost us a conference game. We ran the ball most of the game because of there lack of confidence in the QB. Let's call it what it is.
  5. You have to also realize that Middle Tenn did not stack 8 in the box like all the other teams. So I really question whether or not we have gotten better in the run game.
  6. I agree with H towngreen. The only way is to distribute the balls to others receivers. DT has to see the whole field and use all the recirvers. Smith, Harris, and Kidsy have all proven the can be playmakers as well. This will free up Brelan, and defenses will have to lick there poison. But it starts with the QB not forcing it into double coverage and getting the ball out his hands quicker.
  7. A lot of the issues on offense surround the vanilla play calling and running the ball so many times with no success 37 CAR for 105 total yards out of 3 rb two receivers and the QB. We need more short passes in spaces where the receivers can provide us the yards after the catch. Our positive numbers came from the aerial attack. We just have to keep the throws short and quick and slowly moves the chains.
  8. @aztecskin I agree he doesn't go through progressions. I've seen him on numerous occasions stare the receiver down coming out the huddle. As I said earlier he would make better plays if short quick passes and letting the RB or WR make the yards after the catch. When you have a QB that's limited in his accuracy you need to get the ball out his hand quicker and into the hands of the skilled position players. If you think about it if we are not running the ball DT success have been dump passes and yards after the catch has padded both the QB and skilled position stats.
  9. Collin County First-Team Offense (RB): Carlos Harris, Frisco My link
