  1. JULY 15, 2022 — Single game tickets for the 2022 UTSA football season are on sale now. UTSA is scheduled to host six games during the 2022 season, beginning with the Houston Cougars on September 3.

Fans can call or text 210-458-UTSA (8872) or visit Ticketmaster’s website to purchase their tickets.

Under the direction of 2021 Conference USA Coach of the Year Jeff Traylor, UTSA — the defending Conference USA champion — is coming off a 12-2 campaign that saw the Roadrunners win their first conference championship, earn their first top-25 ranking and play in their second straight and third overall bowl game.

UTSA's season opener against Houston is the “Let's Go 210” game with the Cougars coming to the Alamo City.

Three weeks later, the Roadrunners will welcome Texas Southern to the Alamodome on September 24. The contest will be an “Orange Out” as UTSA welcomes its second Houston-based school to San Antonio.

On October 8, UTSA will host Western Kentucky in a rematch of the 2021 Conference USA Championship Game for UTSA’s Hispanic Heritage game.

On October 22, the Roadrunners will welcome the Mean Green of North Texas for their annual Homecoming game.

They were supposedly vapes and I'd bank that she brought them to Russia from the U.S. in the first place, so maybe she forgot or she thought they wouldn't notice.

Lookit, pot is basically legal in half of the country.  This is a joke and the only reason they are doing this is beacuse we are funding their enemy in the conflict Ukraine.  Brittany is not the most loved person in the US but she doesn't deserve being used as a pawn in this horseshit!

UNT's recruiting is lagging far behind SMU, and now also UTSA. SMU has 15 recruits and enjoys a current ranking of #44 on 247Sports. UNT has 4 recruits and no ranking by the site. 10 of the commits held offer from both programs, but only 1 of those 10 recruits chose UNT. UTSA also enjoys a similar recruiting advantage against UNT. Why are we failing to recruit these high caliber players? Is this a result of the recent NIL changes in college football or is it a different problem? What is your plan to improve our recruiting as UNT prepares to join the AAC in 2023?

All good questions.  I might add that the NIL is not coming from the athletic department and they are really supposed to be steering clear of it.  In some ways it’s like NIL is taking away from the athletic departments fund raising it seems.

No, but had you asked me if that move made sense, it world have been a clear yes, in every way except travel. None of the potential PAC additions are obvious in that way, but tech is obviously NOT

    Agreed.

  5. Lamar University’s tenure in the Western Athletic Conference started with bold moves and big promises.

A year and six months later, Lamar is finally on its way to cleaning up what turned into one big mess.

In January of 2021, four Texas schools announced they would be leaving the Southland Conference. One of them was Lamar, which entered the new-look WAC alongside Sam Houston, Stephen F. Austin and Abilene Christian.

During a press conference inside NRG Park in Houston, WAC leaders gloated about the lofty goals of their league. They praised the potential of WAC basketball, citing the possibility of putting two WAC teams into the NCAA tournament on an annual basis. There was even talk of WAC football one day soon stepping up to the FBS level as a league.

i kind of disagree with the original post... make no mistake... if the Big 10 and SEC fully split... everyone below them is Tier 3... there will be no Tier 2, sorry Big 12, ACC and Pac 12(10?)

Yes but who will lead the second tier? That could impact is eventually as I would think that league is where we realistically could be.  Like if the Pac10 survives and eats off a couple of Big 12 programs or Mountain West programs will those programs look to Texas for teams?

Unfortunately I must agree. Regarding the PAC 12, all I know is what I read, which is[a] If Notre Dame joins THE BIG, then Stanford will get an invitation because of their close relationship with the IRISH. [b] If ND says no, and they would owe the ACC a ton of money if the say yes, then Oregon and Washington may get a invited but not as a full share partner as their franchises are worth far less than $100 million each per year which is THE BIG's new benchmark. [c] If Oregon and Washington are not included in THE BIG's expansion then they can either move to BIG 12 or stay and rebuild the PAC. [d] If the PAC reloads they will include programs in major markets regardless of location and presence conference affiliation. Their keys to their survival are Oregon and Washington, who will jump to THE BIG given half a chance,

So who survives in your mind the PAC12 or Big12?  Or do they do a complete merger?  What happens with the left overs like Oregon State and Cal?

  8. Obviously our basketball program has become respectable. Our football is a huge disappointment but our other sports seem to be doing well. Yet schools like UTSA are drawing more eyeballs with a tiny budget and shitty facilities due to winning due to good coaching hires and excellent scheduling that has helped them increase their attendance.  Say what you will about Traylor but the guy got them into the top 25 before we beat them and Littrell has never come close to sniffing that.  I want to think we belong in the Big 12 but wonder if we have what it takes to make the next cut and what it will take to get there.
