  1. I think we both have great things going on now, but how can you not notice all the billboards around town? Maybe I'm just looking for them though. Anyways, football season is near and we'll both be playing in different stadiumsnext year (although ours will be a construction zone more than a stadium) so let's make the last year a special one. P.S. to clear something up, we only added the SEZ suites in. 2008 not rebuilding the east side. The east side is phase 2 of our renovation which will cost between 30 to 50 mil more.
  2. I love how they kept his father's name as generic looking as possible on that sign. I think they're begging for more money if 150k gets you naming rights to anything.
  3. It's also air conditioned, so that have that going for them as well. Pretty sad they had to throw that into the article.
  4. While I love disdain for Smew from any fan base, this happens to be (mostly) wrong. Athletics at very few institutions actually bring dollars in, SMU operates in the red every year. The one benefit of a successful athletic program is branding your university which brings in more "quality" students. Students and alumni with pride in their institution will generally donate more to many departments on campus which creates larger budgets (especially at a private university) to indirectly affect the staff. You are right in the fact that if professors could get their head out of their hole they may be able to see this. Just look at TCU who are in the process of adding buildings by the dozen and adding programs in graduate departments all of which have been funded over the last decade. Coincidence?
  5. Thanks guys. It would be great if UNT could find a way to get some baseball going as there's so much talent in the area. Best of luck next year! Go Frogs! Go Mean Green!
  6. I hear what your saying too. But, TCU is now in a place where we can schedule a Clemson, Oklahoma or Oregon State and it not hurt them too much if they lose. I don't make the schedules, I don't have any inside information I'm just giving you the general viewpoint of a TCU fan. We're both trying to get better, think bigger and look out for ourselves (which we should). For that, much respect to UNT for putting your money where your dream is.
  7. You'd kill us, no doubt! That would be a game I would actually show up to though.
  8. Could you please explain this arrogance you speak of. As a TCU alumnus I always root for UNT and have been extremely excited to see y'all in the tournament over the last few years. If you're talking about football scheduling, try putting yourself in our shoes. Most TCU fans don't even want to schedule smew anymore, it does us no good. Not knocking your program, but TCU is trying to build a national reputation more than a north Texas reputation (which we've achieved to it's fullest as a small private school). It would be cool to have more local games (i.e. Oregon State at Jerryworld), but at this point it doesn't fit with our goals to play UNT or smew. Again, I'm not trying to downplay your team or sound arrogant, although I'm sure it will come off like that, and look forward to watching some games at your new stadium (which looks awesome). Best of luck next season guys. Go Frogs Go Mean Green
