I don't really get the point of a blog piece titled "Where UNT Could Go For Their Hoops Signee" (or whatever it was).....when you have no information to offer.
I agree. Maybe Brett meant "Where Could UNT Go For Their Hoops Signee?"
-
Expensive though (to me anyway). At least they had 'em in UNT branding:

You got the expensive part right! $200-that thing had better pick up beer at the store and reload itself for that!

I have several friends that rave about Five Guys so I am looking forward to trying them out once they open.
-
I would really like a transfer. The right guy would help out a lot with us losing so many guys after next season. Also, most transfers will have to sit out a year anyway so coming to a loaded team won't matter to the guys who want more playing time. A transfer who sits will have a great opportunity to start and play major minutes once they are eligible to play.

Wow. disappointing. LOVE their burgers, maybe my favorite in the entire metroplex, not just Denton. They have actual servers, so I kind of categorize their service on a different level from the counter service places w/o actual "service"... either way, love the place. More of a gourmet burger than the basic ones thrown down at the DC locations, so I'm sure it's a taste thing for many.
Agree on the old Bari's. What a downhill slide that's been.
Every time I see a list like this, I miss the Texas Pickup.
I am judging the service of those servers-I just don't think they do a good job.
Damn, you had to go and bring up the Pickup. Now THAT place had some GREAT burgers.

no offense to Denton County or Rooster's, but any Denton Best Burger list that doesn't mention RG's is flawed.
I have found RG's service to be so-so to really poor. The burgers are ok, but not quite as good as Denton County. So RG wasn't on my ballot.
The real tragedy is the sharp decline in Fera's (formerly Bari's). We used to love that place and now skip going there entirely.

that sucks....but ya know...she'll have other games...
LOL we are both coaches.

Well damn. My daughter's team just got rescheduled again and now has game on the 15th at, you guessed it, 3:00!
Sorry, but you will have to count me out.

Go with the bermuda and use a ground cover around the tree. There are some really good ground cover plants that require little to no water and bermuda will stand the heat and drought better. A few years ago pretty much all of Collin County had some very serious water restrictions and lots of people were pissed about the dead lawns. To avoid that happening again I would go with bermuda grass.

Option #3 would work, or just all time QB...
Or not because if you play against him and win that is pretty freaking cool. If you lose, well the other guys had a ringer and it is so not your fault!
-
If this is the #11 I'm thinking of can we just concede the game now and have an autograph session?
No no, I want my chance to catch (and maybe drop) some passes from a former DI QB. I haven't been able to do that since from high school and my old QB eventually got converted to a middle linebacker.

OK having just seen this I am in since you still seem to need players. The only thing that could prevent me from playing is if there is a rescheduled baseball game that day for one of my kids. In that case I would still be happy to get the shirt.
Name - Army of Dad
T-shirt size - XL
Height - Listed as 6' but really 5' 10"
Weight - about 35 pounds more than what I played at
40 speed - I can't chug a 12 ounce beer, I have no chance at a 40.
Age - 33
I still think my high school coach was full of it, I do have good hands.
I will likely be playing in front of my kids and therefore trying not to curse or play poorly.

Starts Jan. 1, 2011; Big 10 vs. Big 12/CUSA (alternates).
No SunBelt option mentioned...
ESPN story says the Dallas Football Classic will take the 7th ranked Big 12 team and the 6th ranked Big Ten. That doesn't sound very classic to me.

Yes, there are other attractive options (that may not really be options), but I look at it this way: Do we really want to see this young, double-digit scoring, Division I starter end up as a welcome reinforcement at ASU, WKU, or USA?
I am cool with that if it means we land a better player. If he is the best available then I will still cheer loudly for him next season.

@ laurie
Compared to a 6'5" sophomore guard who scored just under double digits in the Big Ten Carmouche just isn't going to excite most people.
-
But you need numbers. Ok. 12.6ppg, 4.8 rpg, 2.1 apg. Carmouche had 4 20 point scoring games...one was against ULM...one was at Georgia...two were against Western Kentucky, one at the SBC tourney, the other at Diddle. He finished 18th in the conference in scoring. He finished 22nd in the conference in rebounding...as a 6'2" guard. He finished 6th in the conference in steals.
Here are some more numbers. He shot .397 from the field and an ugly .613 from the line.
I am not excited about this potential signing and I hope he is a back up plan if Coach Jones can't get a bigger fish.
-
I don't seem to remember this player. Is he really that good? Anyhow have stats on him?

Would he b eligible to play immediately?
I seem to recall hearing that all transfers from UNO would be eligible to play immediately.
The NCAA confirms that here.
http://www.ncaa.org/wps/portal/ncaahome?WCM_GLOBAL_CONTEXT=/ncaa/ncaa/legislation+and+governance/committees/division+i/saac/di+saac+faq+transfer+rules
Q: If my coach leaves, can I transfer and immediately be eligible? No. Contrary to popular belief, the departure of a coaching staff member does not grant a student-athlete relief from the residence requirement on transferring.
However, there is a transfer exception for student-athletes transferring from institutions that discontinue a sport, never sponsored the sport while the student-athlete was in attendance, or reclassified the sport from NCAA Division I to Division III.
There also are other transfer exceptions (e.g., nonrecruited student exception, return to original institution without participation exception, two-year nonparticipation exception, military service/church mission exception, etc.) that student-athletes may qualify for and should consult their institution's compliance coordinator or call the NCAA academic and membership affairs staff for more information.

If he ends up coming here he appears to be a shorter less talented version of Collin Mangrum. Carmouche fouled out of six games last year and hasn't shot free throws well at all (.613 from the line last season).
I hope we do better with the last scholarship left. I think we can do better too.

UNO's Charles Carmouche was on campus this weekend.

Sports wise, UNT just doesn't feel like a major university without a more robust athletic program. We really need baseball, especially if UNT wants to try and move up during the next round of conference realignment.
-
If he wants to play point guard, he is going to have to get in line behind Josh and Al. I'm guessing he doesn't want that job.
Don't forget Dominique!
Though I think having another guy who can run the point for a few minutes is a good thing. Just like having a couple of extra fireballers in your bullpen is a good thing!
-
I really hate the 96 team idea. Of course good sense and NCAA are often mutually exclusive.
-
Serious question how does Kentucky's APR not taking a huge hit with 5 underclassmen leaving? With two more Top Recruits in 10-11 who will be one and done how do they survive yet we got docked a scholarship
Maybe someone else can help out here too, but I think the APR takes a smaller hit if the player left the school while still in good acedemic standing.
