  1. Aggies need to go get Traylor. Dude can scoop up every Texas talented player and they would save some money after the huge payout. Rumor has it Jeff is an Aggie guy. But is the name big enough?

Dude can work the portal. Has extreme connections with local coaches and kids. Could recruit the country selling ice cream to an Eskimo.

Interesting watch down in College Station.

  2. Has Caponi been released yet? I thought as soon as we became non-bowl eligible he would be let go. This was a wasted season.

Man what a disaster Neal has on his hands. Jared, Eric…it doesn’t seem like it should be this bad but it is. How on earth do you rebuild energy for this entire athletic department.

Can’t have the money maker program shutting down in 14 days for too many years in a row. Those extra 3 weeks and planning for Frisco made all the difference in the world.

So bizarre this season. The end is usually a disaster with new head coach coming in. This just fees long. September feels forever away.

Glad I never have to watch us lose in Ford again or to smu in football again.

  3. If we finish 5-7 then this season played how many of us thought it would, maybe a win better. The FIU game kept us from going bowling.

I see the people saying constant change is bad. I agree. But who’s to say he doesn’t lose players in the portal or other key peeps leave. Our schedule will most likely be tougher next year with Memphis. UTSA and year 2 UAB on the road.

This is so messed up because it’s a crapshoot. Fire him start over, suck. Leave him, tougher schedule, players leave, stink.

I don’t want to wait another handful of years to go bowling again.

I bet morris keeps him and goes down or soars with the ship.

  4. 1. Dave Aranda - let him recoup rebuild focusing on one side of the ball.

    2. Phil Bennett - is he bored yet? Is his wife ready for a break again.

    3. Skip Holtz.

    4. Or get that Troy guy getting experience now and bring in Patterson as a consultant.

Go Big here. Morris is building a world class offense. Get someone off the couch - send CY in for the close.

  5. It’s ugly. Again black moniker on ESPN. We are telling the world our colors are black and white with green piping. What are we doing? Diminishing our brand by choice. Sorry UTSA looked sharp in their combo. We had to be even hotter in that dark jersey.

We have a beautiful green. Our stadium should look like Tennessee and pop with all of us in our signature gear.

where is the leadership to protect the brand and image. Get on the horn with ESPN tell them no more dominant black score lines. Tell the players they get black dominant unis one or two times in the month of October. Color code the fans:

    cal wear green

    acu wear white

    Temple wear green

    memphis wear black

    UTSA wear green

    uab wear white

Look some of the Gameday efforts are good. Tvs on the mound, the pub inside Datcu, female emcee has booming enthusiastic voice - Eric is just keeping it from being appreciated and taking off.

After living through this season I feel it’s a blown opportunity. These supposed super teams in our league are not Bama, Georgia and LSU. We should be going bowling this year. I believe we fall short at 5-7. Bummer.

  6. I used to say that these losses were still entertaining. Now they’re just making me incredibly frustrated. I’m trying not to feel like we’re living through the Dodge years again, but every passing week makes me feel like we’re about to relive one of the darkest eras of Mean Green football.

How you choose to come out onto that field and get punched in the mouth is beyond me.

San Antonio is going to be no bueno. You know the drill, Harris up by 28 at half, UNT loses 52-49. And then pony isn’t going to play around. Love their D. Bloodbath on the boulevard.

  7. Just change the helmet and I liked black when it was a novelty. I lived the Helwig years where Cooper and Navy made its way into our look. I feel black is doing the same thing. Becoming our dominant color like Texas Tech.  Even our score line looked bizarre in black. Now when they showed the green SOW on white cutting to commercials, that’s our look. The helmet is terrible for tv.

But another entertaining loss. Proud of the boys today. The worm will turn and we’ll start winning these games. Can’t go into 21-0 holes.

  8. Since I couldn’t cheer on our Mean Green in person I watched several other games traveling on planes and through airports on Saturday.

The Oregon Washington game was awesome. Two legit powers, two stud quarterbacks. Both those teams are going to make the Big 10 stronger! Didn’t see that coming before this season. Oh and USC will struggle because they don’t like physical under Lincoln.

Notre Dame and Freeman were due for a big win. They played with their hair on fire and outmuscled USC, a first. Crazy what a good transfer quarterback can make. Thank you Chandler.

LSU is putting it together on both sides of the ball, like we seem to be doing from week to week. They might win the West but they do have to travel to Tuscaloosa. Love how Alabama just finds a way. The great Saban will be influencing this years playoffs, already has.

It’s may be fall, but it’s fixin to get really hot down in college station. You know what Ags, there’s this very good coach down in San Antonio who loves your program and knows how to work with top Texas talent. Could Aranda end up the Alamo city? Lincoln in maroon? Riley is sly.

Michigan looks like the number one team and could win it all this year. They will beat THE Ohio State University again. And who is Penn State? They are always hard to figure out. White out at night a dream game to see along with Army Navy.

Arizona is salty. Almost beating USC and shellacking Wazzu. Schizophrenic team flying below the radar. Colorado is cooked for 2023. I will not miss Prime Time and Swifty drama when it all settles down.

Man I love the Mormons, but what happened in Fort Worth. Did not see that coming. Cincinnati feels way off this year.

The Mean Green are hungry for a Big Win, another statement victory. Could that happen in the Big Easy or Highland Park? Or in Denton against the Birds or Tigers? We will know soon enough. Keep on growing and having fun.

Outside of following our fantastic W, I LOVED the Big Sky at Night game.  Took me back to our Sun Belt days in the Kibbie Dome where some memorable wins were earned. Never went to Moscow, but the whole scene is so bizarre it’s cool. Throw in the border war rivalry and I was glued to that game like the old PAC 12 late starts. I have a feeling I’m getting ready to learn about the Big Sky Conference more than I ever thought I would. I love our “costume changes” as someone referred to our uni obsession, but I love soccer too and that’s something I look forward to each year. A minimum of 3 new adjusted kits each year. It’s money genius. Oh and the FIU unis were creatively slick.  Back to traditional uniforms the Griz helmet and look stands the rest of time. I see that traditional combo and think “Winners.”

Back to Bobby Hauck, I really like him. Solid coach. Watched him at UNLV when living in sin city. Good overall guy kind of like Seth with a bit more zest. Loved seen him and the guys go wild on the last second turnover and Idaho stop. We will migrate back to regional rivalries it’s good for the sport and fans.

Awwwwww I love this time of year. The next few weeks are going to be intense and an emotional rollercoaster for sure.

  9. Thank you Jared. That was a first class event yesterday. Love the effort and all of these interesting outreaches will continue connecting us with the Community (Mean Green & Denton & North Texas).

The Mean Green Live area was nice. I was flying solo this game so I wandered around more and that space is getting better. Loved watching the Baylor vs UCF game while listening to the band. The picnic tables and free standing tables were good to gather at. The weather in October and November should make these areas even more appealing. I would add at least one more big tv to have multiple games playing.

The drone show was very cool. FC Dallas does this throughout the season and it’s always a hit. Eventually people will figure out its worth staying for the show and those stands will remain packed. Kudos to the Green Brigade for playing You’ll Never Walk Alone or their closing song until after the show. Good synergy between the band and piped in music operator all night. Yeah, just darken the scoreboard for greater effect.

Love the water stations. They were so helpful to remain hydrated. I couldn’t find them at first and one worker asked was not sure where they were. I stumbled upon them appreciatively.

The Alumni Pavilion was inviting. Love they are focusing on being more warm and welcoming this season, not just membership driven. It’s a great space to gather and catch some score updates.

The families I was sitting around were all having a great time. I thought it was a good turn out for ACU. The Wildcat supporters were friendly too and it was nice to welcome them to Denton.

Yesterday I felt more of what Mosley wants to do from the business community connect perspective. I like it.

Lastly, keep those boards nice and bright without resolution issues. A great quality look that is bright and constantly keeping us posted on what’s going on around the CFB world.

How cool was it to see the National Champion Polo Team on their horses Gallup from end zone to end zone. Glad the fireworks and cannon didn’t spook the beautiful animals.

Fun stuff. Everybody did just enough to get us to 500 before October.

  10. I would not allow smu to park any of their sports in the AAC. Let them go CUSA or Sun Belt.

I’m also okay with taking the TCU approach and never playing smu in anything again. Bowl game understood. But scheduling they are not worth it.

All the best in your east coast ACC world.

UNT will always promote UNT first.

  11. At the Ranger games they have buckets of ice water for you to drench your towel in and drape it on the back and around your neck. Wish they could have ice bins and cooling houses Around the stadium.

The Parker county peach festival had drop zones for people to cool down. Don’t think this can happen in DATCU but the ice bath zones would be helpful.

Just a note, people drop like flys waiting to get into Globe Life Field in game days. Medical dispatched often, during these summer games.  In our stadium medical might be on overdrive. We need to check on each other and make sure everyone is fully hydrated and okay throughout the 3 hour event. Including the Green Brigade.

But once again bring your crazy into DATCU Cal ain’t gonna know what hit them.

  12. This could turn into a rich opportunity for WSU and Oregon State. Not financially but in exposure and in pushing their brand into the population centers of America.

This round of realignment is showing that you have to play in the East. The MWC is a fine league I have loved for a long time. But programs like SDSU Oregon State and even Boise need to carve wins out where the voters and talking heads live. The Cali schools have realized this. The Bay Area schools are realizing this.

For the AAC this is a win. Oregon State is getting national buzz for their squad this year. Their facilities are solid! WSU would get the most exposure it’s ever loved outside of the flag on Gameday. I predict we will have to fend off the Big 12 eventually when these programs start excelling.

UNT has landed in a beautiful situation. Center of the country. No more smu to share the conference with. Big 12 in our backyard. SEC hardcore football fans everywhere who live breathe drink and eat college sports year round. Major media market. Humongous enrollment and alumni base. The ingredients are there for many to elevate.
