the attendence will be no where close to that come our next home game. All i heard from everyone near me is how they will not be returning to see such crap again.
Besides... trend shows that we never maintain such numbers.
I'm not talking about the fair-weather spare. I'm talking in general, from an overall perspective. You're right, there will be fewer people for the rest of THIS season, but the interest amongst all the various facets of fandom has increased. Not that it can't change back to the way it was 4 or 5 years ago, but if we keep the momentum going, it will only get better.

17K+ on a Tuesday night at 6:30 with a 1-2 record?
Even before last night, I believed the program had reached the point where we will draw very well if the product is descent. No more complaining about students, faculty, lack of promotions, the Denton community, alumni, etc. The program now has support from an attendance standpoint (financial is still a ways off).
If we had come into last night's game at 2-1 after beating MTSU and Tulsa and staying within 14 points of KSU, there would have been well over 20K on hand. You could not have said that 3 years ago. We must maintain the momentum.

Leaving work at 2:15 for 2:30 dentist appointment (seriously). Hoping to be done with dentist by 3:15 and sipping a cold one in the Orange lot by 4:00.

I am told by a co-worker who attended the Tulsa game that the ticket booth is charging a service charge of $5 per purchase. Has anyone else heard this? If so, this is WRONG and just another means by which to drive away more potential fans. I can see someone walking up to the window to buy an $8 GA ticket and being asked for $13. I'd just laugh and walk away and never come back. Please tell me my co-worker somehow misunderstood.

Now that's some optimism! I hope you're right, but I'm not counting on it. We haven't seen anything to suggest this offense is capable of putting up even 20 points on anyone, much less 45.
I would be ecstatic if 15K showed up tonight. I'd consider anything over 12,000 to be a bonus, but I'm really thinking it'll be more in the 8-9K range.

Surprise, I've been working as an accountant for the same company (telecommunications supplier Ericsson Inc.) the entire 19 years since I graduated.

Nothing funny about not even being in the same galaxy as teams we'd like to think we can compete with, i.e. Tulsa. We will not win the Sunbelt. It does not matter who your competition is if you cannot score. We lose to 3 of Troy, ULL, FAU and ASU.

It didn't get me thinking if we could have done that. My thought was "they would have killed us." I mentioned this to a friend of mine and he said, "You mean TSU would have killed NT?" and I said, "Well, that too."

Orange and Blue lot entrance was closed due to some "accident" according to the cop that was directing traffic. We sat in a non-moving line for quite a while, causing us to miss some of your tailgating time.
Also, let's say you have a pass to the Orange lot and your fellow tailgaters don't have a parking pass. They weren't letting paying customers in the Orange or Blue lots anymore. So, how do you hook up with the rest of your party? My buddy had to pull over to the side of the road and unload all of his gear. Then, after the game, we had to stuff it all into one vehicle and haul it over to where he was parked and unload/reload. What a beating. My crew has pretty much decided that we will "tailgate" at home and just show up for the game if there is no solution for this problem. Any ideas?

Coming from Coppell with 5 others. In addition, expecting some of Matt Phillips family from San Angelo area to be at the game and join us for tailgating.

The ticket office told me to get there at noon to make sure I get a spot in the tailgating lot......do I really need to be there that early??

Did you not see the new logo hats at Voertmans? This past Saturday, they had a new logo hat that I had not seen yet. It is the new green with the new North Texas font spelled out (no UNT). I believe it says Mean Green on the back. Best looking hat utilizing the new stuff I have seen.
Hmmm. Maybe I was on crack when I was in there. No, that was my 10 year old daughter driving me nuts with, "Can I have..., can I have..., can I have...".

I noticed this as well. I was in town Saturday for the scrimmage. Went to the campus store as well as Voertman's. Really good looking stuff at the campus store...most impressive collection I've ever seen. Still looking for a descent hat though. Don't like white hats or hats with UNT on them. I want something green with North Texas and Mean Green on it with something visible on the back as well as the front. Is this too much to ask?

Green blood will flow unless administration pulls support, drops to I-AA or drops the program altogether. If that happens, count me out for good.
