I definitely blame the coaches, especially on offense, but I think there are a few stones to throw in regard to some of the players. I'm not going to pick on any player in particular unless it continues and becomes really apparent, but defense is based on intensity and the intensity level last week was no where near what it was for the SMU game.
The effort and hustle just did not look like it was quite there on defense last week. Sure the coaches are supposed to motivate and get the most out of these guys, but if DD and company aren't doing their job then the players need to show a little pride and get out there and kick some butt all on their own. That's what team leadership is all about.
Maybe so, but these guys have given up on this staff. Pride only goes so far and if you don't have any faith in those at the top, you're just not going to lay it on the line for them.

Travis,
I do not blame you at all. The equation seems pretty simple to me...the administration demonstrates a commitment to building a successful program, donations go up. They choose not to, donations go down. You are not saying that you will not give until the program has reached a certain level of success, you are merely stating that you need some assurance that that is the direction the program is headed. I have no problem with that.

This post is so funny to me - what do you want us to say? Gosh we are so happy that after 9 years, this coach has led us to a 40 - 58 record in the WORST D1 conference in America? It is fans that are happy with our record that will keep this university in mediocrety.
mediocrity - moderate to low quality; average.
I would be thrilled if we were mediocre. Not satisfied, but it sure would be better than being pathetic.
Mediocre would be the teams in the 50 - 70 range, like OSU, KU, Miami, Akron, Iowa St. Like I said, "thrilled".

Now, let me think...which public universities have a reputation nationally?
University of Texas
Texas A&M
Michigan
Penn St.
Alabama
OU
UCLA
LSU
Arizona St.
Florida St.
Ohio St.
Va. Tech
Tennessee
Notice anything all of these have in common?

Ok, let me ask everyone this - would you rather UNT become more like Texas Tech (not really known for it's academic prowess, but has a pretty decent sports program) or SMU/Rice (laughing stocks of the college football universe, but compared to Harvard for Academics)??
It's a no-brainer for me. Give me the Tech scenario over the SMU/Rice scenario any day.

Looked like about 14K butts in seats. Lots of empty seats mixed in.
