what did actual butts in seats look like for Army? 22K, 23K?

it definitely did not look close to UNT/Houston

My estimate was about 22K.  8000 on the student side, 3000 end zone, 11,000 press box side.  Not as filled-in as UH game.

We’re making the trip too.  Anyone know details about visitor parking?

Last time I was there (3 or 4 years ago), we parked in a small lot on the SE side of the stadium, but I think the only reason they let us in that lot was because that's where the Alumni Assoc was having their tailgate.  There is no organized event for this game, but I would like to tailgate near other greenies if someone has some kind of idea where they'll be.  One time, I remember parking in a wooded area near the basketball arena on the west side, but I don't know if that's still open to everyone.

Our problem is what I’ve been harping on for years.

Give up on DFW. We lost.

There are thousands of people to the north of us who are too far from Norman. That should be our target market. Gainesville, Sanger, etc. It is asinine to me that we’d rather beat our head against a brick wall trying to get Argyle (lol City of Argyle day) to come to our games, why not cities too far from TCU or SMU?

I mean, do we not think Gainesville has $5 for Wing tickets?

Students—especially our students—are only going to show up if we win. That is reality. And even then, we won’t have more than 10K.

The other issue is that our donors (like Ernie) don’t like Denton. They detest it because they think it’s full of them libs!! No way would they want to interact with our feats that draw them libs!! They’d rather continue to fail to get Dallas interested in a corner of a city with 150K.

I don't see any reason to put much effort into any particular geographic area.  All efforts should be put into getting students and alums to attend.  There are plenty in that demographic to draw from.

  4. I sit on the so-called alumni side (I prefer press box side).  I yell and plenty of others in 106 do as well.  To get the whole place rockin', though, we need to win consistently and play (and beat) teams that people have heard of.  I haven't missed a home game in over 20 years and when the day comes when the place is packed and everyone is yelling and we have a lead in the 4th quarter against a ranked opponent, it will be glorious.
