  1. Perfect! Every once in a while I could begin to understand Todge Rodge only to be led back to ranting and raving similar to Baghdad Bob. I'm still trying to figure out who was more factual.

I really don't have an opinion on TodgeRodge's post. I was just suggesting a possiblity for content and presentation of the Neinas report.

  2. (cross posted to correct thread)

Whatever he chooses after his recovery, I think Nathan Tune is the kind of player, teammate and human being everyone on the squad should look up to. He did everything right: worked hard, waited patiently, and was ready when he was called upon.

It really makes me think of Job, in a way. An extremely pios and successful man just gets hammered by bad luck and tragedies - proof that doing things the right way doesn't prevent life's woes from reaching you.

But, like Job, I think Nathan will continue to be who he always was. And that is why he will be ultimately successful in life.

Wishing a speedy and complete recovery.

  4. The "W" drill, or "Blood Alley" as it is also known, has been as common to football practices

as cleats and chin straps for generations. I think I first participated in one in the 5th grade, although usually the rest of the players who are waiting their turn line up along the sides so that the guy running the ball can't run out of bounds around cones to avoid a hit. You either foughtt through the tackle or got the crap knocked out of you. A Dickey/Deloach run practice during "Blood Alley" drills were some of the most exciting football practices to watch. Even the QB's, Kickers and Punters had to participate in it. There was no taking it easy on anyone regardless of what color practice jersey they had on and the equipment guys were constantly changing out and replacing the face mask mounts on the helmets from the massive collisions.

The very fact that this is just now being introduced and considered something "NEW" around here says and explains a lot about the past three years. Better late than never I suppose?

There was also a drill they did in the Dickey/Deloach days where they threw two guys in a circle of players and the first one to "tackle" the other won. It inevitably ended up with both players pretty much beating the crap out of each other. No one ever got seriously injured, and you could see that "bulldog" attitude, plain as day, on each and every down.

  5. Crap. I'm of Polish descent. If you need someone to (mythically) charge a brigade of German Panzer tanks on horseback with sword drawn, get his ass kicked, then brag about it for the next 70 years, I'm your man. Let me know.

Probably in the top 10 funniest things I've ever read on the forum. And I mean that seriously. Most of the time, LOL is just an expression. I had someone in the next office over check to see if I was choking. Hilarious. +1
